Wonderful physcian
Very thorough and knowledgeable. As a retired physician I am very demanding about who cares for my wife. Dr. Kirin is smart, empathetic, and has a wonderful bedside manner.

I have been seen by Dr. Kirwan over the last five years and have been very grateful for her outstanding care. She is very proactive with tests to find out what is going on. She is very quick to diagnose and refer to specialists if needed. Great Doctor

Worst doctor ever, horrible bed side manners, ZERO compassion for the elderly, talks down to her patients as if they didn’t know there body. You would be better off at the free clinic...... BEWARE!

I was a working musician, got a minor hand inury, had limited time left with insurance. Dr wasted the 9 months on nonesense. Took 3 months to order the initial PT, despite my calls - which she claims that she never recieved. Last visit to specialist I recieved an ultrasound that showed fluid in my hand and wrist; with no time left to address. Kirwan never looked at my hand, ever. Just kept saying "You'll be fine." 2 years later I still can't play. Don't go to this doctor.

So often people don't think of writing a review until they are upset and want to complain. I just want to say I have had a wonderful experience with Dr. Avila-Kirwan now for the past three years. She is warm, friendly, alert to details, and very communicative and cooperative in arranging my care. After I had an abnormal mammogram, she and her staff immediately set me up for an MRI, then a referral I needed for surgery. She is kind and reassuring, and her staff is also delightful.

Awful interpersonal skills; she also read my pathology report incorrectly. Last visit, I left her office in tears. She chided me for having trouble processing the news of breast cancer Dx, plus dealing with a very stressful job and school....very cold woman. I cannot believe she still practices. Not the last bad experience with UC Davis. Advice: Choose a different medical group & doctor

Dr Kirwan is an excellent, caring and intelligent physician. I have a Masters degree in Public Health with a practice focused on scientifically based chronic health care education. I've been a patient of Dr Kirwan's for 9 years and witnessed her guide me through the diagnosis and ongoing treatment of a chronic lung condition. Highly recommended.

I have been seeing Dr. Kirwan the last several years. She is thorough, knowledgable and cares about her patients. I find her to be supportive and willing to answer questions or explore issues I may be having. At my yearly physical she even caught an unseen and otherwise undetected problem just by looking at me closely as I was sitting with her.

I've been a pt. for 13 yrs. & I've really come to appreciate Dr. Kirwan more & more over the yrs. I always felt very comfortable w/ her level of knowledge, availability of appointments, interaction w/ staff, etc. but felt hurried, & I wasn't comfortable asking questions or bringing up health concerns as I needed. I find things to be very different now! In addition to the knowledge expected, I find her to be patient, warm, supportive, compassionate and engaged. I appreciate her very much.

I found Dr Kirwan to be friendly and attentive to my medical concern. I went in thinking I had another UTI and found that I had a kidney stone after Dr. immediately referred me for an Xray. An appt. was immediately made with my urologist.

I think she's a good Doctor but she will only review blood work tests with you during your physical basically. She will not stay and talk to you about any concerns or issues that you've had. If you mention an ailment, she automatically refers you to a specialist and won't talk about the issue any further. I have asked for a Pap Smear for 3 years running now and she has refused to give me one. She keeps saying I don't need one...but I'd really like one since it's been years since I've had one.
