For various reasons I have had 3 surgeries over the years by him. He and his staff are always excellent. They answer questions promptly and I have always had great outcomes with my surgeries.

Has been a great help to me.
I have been seeing Dr.Trost for over 10 years. He has always been helpful. I am getting ready to have another surgery by him. I would recommend him to my friends and family.

Great experience
I was referred to UW Health for bad lower back pain that had developed. We went through the process of several visits, and then discussed options. My back had severe issues and we decided to do one surgery, and see how it went. After several months of recovery we scheduled a second surgery that is still healing. Great discussions, options and team working for him. Overall - an EXCELLENT experience.

I saw him for lower back and sciatic pain down my leg. After a short examination, which included him using a safety pin that he took from his pocket to test for numbness in my thigh and leg, he basically gave me only one option for treatment. He then took what was obviously a non emergent phone call in the middle of my consultation. He ended the visit while on hold during the call and didn't allow me to ask any questions about the treatment plan or possible alternatives. Very unprofessional! And extremely condescending.

I have a herniated disc, and have had it for over 5 months. I finally was able to see Dr. Trost after many weeks of unsuccessful physical therapy, chiropractor treatments, and exercising. I finally got an MRI to confirm I had a herniated disc. When Dr. Trost entered the room, he immediately told me I needed surgery and what the side effects or risks are with the surgery. He did not go into any sort of detail why he felt the other options (which he didn't cover with me) were not appropriate.
