Dr. Gregory Scimeca, MD

Dr. Scimeca was my ophthalmologist for a couple years ending late 2024 when he performed laser cataracts procedure implanting a panoptix lens (cost, $4000). This option was unequivocally incorrect because of my severe astigmatism and corneal irregularities. Unfortunately, my sensory 'antennae' alerting me to his deceptive communication style, rushed visits, and lack of transparency occurred too late; and I went forward with this procedure receiving very little vision improvement. Additionally, his last recommendation (before I moved on) was to replace the lens of the other eye with a toric lens. I have since moved to a different practice where I am planning removal of the panoptix lens. Moreover, I've learned that there is no evidence of cataracts in the other eye (at least not enough to warrant removal and replacement) and corneal irregularity is also evident, further demonstrating Dr. Scimeca's utter failure to serve as my ophthalmologist.

Front desk service is terrible. Waited for appointment over the month and finally they said "I don't have vision coverage on my insurance". How lovely is that? I have Medicare and Medicaid and United.

Professionalism, Confidence, Clean environment and was taken care off. The Staff were friendly polite and made payment plan. It was so easy with both eyes. Had Caterat Surgery. Can see much much better. God bless Dr Gregory and his team.Amen.

Who knew after so long of not being able to see, I would be able to see 20/20 again. Dr Scimeca and his whole staff were wonderful. The office was well run, and after seeing how many patients there were, I was surprised at that. Was very scared to say the least and they tried to comfort me and tell me it will be ok. It was and after 2 surgeries, one on each eye, I can see without the blur again. Can't say enough about them. You want to see again, don't hesitate. I waited over 2 years and if I would have known the results I would have done it sooner. Bye, bye contacts and glasses!!!

This place is bustling but the staff are great at shepherding us through the process in a friendly and efficient manner. The doctor is nothing short of a magician. I had very ripe cataracts in both eyes, yet had no idea how much vision I had lost until Dr. Scimeca operated. Now I see how vibrant colors are, and even individual leaves on trees! After a bit of discomfort the day of surgery, every day following has been free of symptoms and filled with wonder. I now see 20/20 in both eyes! I cannot recommend Dr. Scimeca and the Surgery Center strongly enough. You absolutely can trust them with your sight.

I had cataract surgery on both eyes with LenSX Laser System and Trifocal Lens, and now have 20/20 vision! Dr. Scimeca explained every detail of the surgery excellently, and made me feel extremely comfortable before, during and after surgery. I had in grown eye lash that caused pain in my eye. To treat that, I have visited ophthalmologists for over 4 years to remove the intruding eye lash, but those eye lash will grow back in 3 or 4 months. I was recommended to see Dr. Scimeca, who permanently removed the intruding eye lash. His skill is top notch. I have since then trouble free from eye lash pain.
