I saw Dr. Kays recently and he was AWFUL! I am a disabled veteran and he was dismissive, short and spent no time with me. He never did any kind of patient history and only spent only about 3 minutes with me as I tried to described my issue. I came to the ER because my service connected injury to my head was causing me tremendous discomfort. I told Dr. Kays I had not been able to sleep for three nights because of the pain and and he never even listened to me. I felt like I was just a major inconvenience to him. Even after I asked the nurse to see him again, the nurse also seemed irritated and basically told me the Doctor was finished with me. I know Mayo prides itself on taking time with the patients and listening to the patient. He and even the nursing staff did neither. Shame on them. I would NEVER recommend Dr. Kays even thought he is the head of the ER which makes this even worse. I left without any kind of proper diagnosis or any kind of help with my pain.
