Dismissive, arrogant & aloof
Dr. Head treated my father for an enlarged prostate. He was dismissive when my dad told him something wasn’t right and that he had blood in urine. Dr. Head’s response was to tell him he just wasn’t catheterizing correctly and needed to practice more and that he’d see him in a year. My dad insisted on a 6-month follow up. That never happened. Turns out he had stage 4 bladder cancer that metastasized in the lungs. When we called Dr. Head to the hospital he was angry that he had been called in. He offered no consolation, no apology. When we told him we were meeting with the oncologist, he actually said “I don’t know why you’re wasting his time having him come here there’s nothing he can do he’ll just tell you to make an appointment.” Sadly, the cancer was too advanced and my father passed away within 2 weeks. Dr. Head dismissed my father as an old man who was wasting his time. I would not recommend Dr. Head to anyone.

I haven't even seen the Doctor yet
My experience is with the office staff. They are the most unprofessional individuals I have ever encountered. They do not do their due diligence to make sure they've exhausted every avenue to see if the patient has the in-network insurance. Melinda just canceled the appointment without doing her due diligence and made it as if it were the patient fault. Just think, I haven't even seen the doctor yet. Sad to say, he was referred by one of the ER Doctors. His office staff hung up the phone on me 3 times in mid-sentence and then transferred me to someone who couldn't help me. I'm afraid to see what the doctor will do.

Cannot Recommend
Dr. Head only informed me of the bad outcomes in 10% of cases similar to mine after the first surgery. He did several procedures on me and suggested that I'd have to have additional surgeries every 6 to 18 months for the rest of my life. I went for a second opinion and had one last surgery elsewhere that corrected the problem. Dr. Head has the personality of a fence post and only perked up when there was a prospect of additional surgeries. I cannot recommend Dr. Head.

He seems to be in a rush, didn’t have time to listen to me. Not a very caring doctor. Or was it just me he didn’t have time for.

In my many years, I have never reported a terrible experience about my Physician. I can count on 2 hands the amount of words this doctor spoke to me about my surgery or after care. I was referred by my healthcare provider and did a disservice to myself. He was not friendly and did not perform the procedures I expected him to perform (percutaneous nephrolithotomy). I received follow-up treatment with another physician and the stones were still in place according to my X-rays. So I have no idea what took place. He performed 2 procedures. I attempted to contact him and no response. Please be proactive and research your doctor before making the mistake I did!

Dr Head is a very caring and informative doctor. During my kidney cancer, he took his time to answer all of my questions and concerns. He calmed my fears. When my dad found out he also had kidney cancer two years later, we went to Dr Head, even though my dad lived three hours away. Dr Head continued to be attentive, caring and informative. His staff is also very nice, attentive and professional. I would highly recommend him and his staff to anyone!

Dr. Head's seriousness & thoroughness in diagnosing prostate cancer probably saved me much pain and suffering, if not my life. His friendly manner and professionalism have been appreciated by both my wife and myself.

After a mix up with a location for surgery, I had to have my kidney stone extraction done by Dr Head rather than my original urologist. I met him for the first time on the surgery floor and I felt like I was in great hands. He explained everything that was going to happen, his team was attentive to my needs, they took care of all my problems. In and out for the removal in about 5 hours, including checkin and recovery. Resting comfortably at home. Thanks Dr. Head and team!
