Dr Bassett was my Psychiatrist for over 10 years. I truly do not think I would be alive right now without his help. He is the most ethical, caring, forthright, capable Psychiatrist I have ever had...sadly I have had many. Dr Bassett is the calm in the storm. He cares so much about you as a patient. Not once did I ever walk out of his office feeling confused, or uneducated about my mental health needs and diagnoses. He literally did his own therapy, talk therapy. It was what kept me sane. (And we put my life in perspective using the Cardinals and Baseball...we are fans, it made a heavy subject, lighter). He left private practice to go to the VA. He went to work with men and women struggling with PTSD. I lost my last support when he left, but how can anyone be upset when he is now doing such important work. I know he was a once in a lifetime doctor...I am in a very bad place now...I would give anything to have him back as my doctor.

He is a good doctor. very responsive, explains very easy to understand. spent lots time w patients which maybe the reason the appointment is always late. He makes patient trust him by returning the phone calls. I feel I depend on him when I was very ill and he didnt disappoint me. Only one thing- he is very reluctant to reduce the med. but Overall. He is a very good Dr.
