I had surgery in November 2019 and had a tooth come out during surgery. I never had a problem with my teeth and when I reported it I was told "that is common". Dr. Weicht was very nice and said he would turn it over to his insurance company. I had to make three trips to the dentist to have my first crown put in. When it was reported to the insurance they denied it because I signed a release paper that it is not their responsibility if you lose a tooth during surgery from the intubation. I am out $1300 for a tooth that was perfectly fine and had to be replaced at no fault of my own. I wish everyone would be aware of this release befor having surgery. I will make sure everyone I know is aware of this release before signing for surgery. After speaking with other anesthesiologist I was told that they always take care of this probem in spite of the insurance. The insurance companies name is Preferred Physicians Medical Risk Prevention Group and I feel I was treated very unfairly.
