Dr. Grant Sun, MD

Dr. Sun is an outstanding orthopedic surgeon. When I broke my ankle (4 broken bones and two of them with two breaks), he carefully considered how to repair the damage. The ankle was very severely damaged. As a result, he did two surgeries after carefully calculating how he should attack the problems. Now, 6 months out, I can walk for more than 2 1/2 miles at a time, walking over 45 minutes at a time. I have no pain when walking, though sometimes I have some stiffness as the ankle is still somewhat swollen. I continue to improve. I am definitely mobile again, and the stiffness continues to improve. I am so very thankful to Dr. Sun for his good care and his expertise.

I brought my son in to have an ankle injury evaluated. We arrived on time but still waited an hour and a half to see the MD. I felt like Dr. Sun had his mind made up about “what was best for us” before he did a physical exam or even talked to us about the injury or our situation. Not once did he ask us what our desired outcome was and was reluctant to discuss options. He just told us how we were wrong in our thinking and kept telling us the only sensible option was physical therapy. There are a lot of pictures hanging on the walls of high profile athletes expressing their gratitude for the excellent services they received. However, if you are not one of these elite athletes you probably won’t be taken seriously. To be fair, Dr. Sun is part of the larger TOSH system and is probably obligated to recommend PT or other in house services before even discussing surgery so that they can optimize their revenue. Overall I was disappointed. I felt unimportant. Corporate medicine at its finest

Dr. Sun spent time with me asking questions and reviewing X-rays with me. He actually reviewed my heath history with me. I have arthritis in both feet and he was caring and compassionate, He did an excellent job of communicating my options. TOSH is a great facility where providers who are the best of the best serve patients—I feel Dr. Sun meets that standard of care.

I am so grateful for the help I recently received from Dr. Sun! I met with him after many years of pain, tears, and frustration and a minor procedure made a big change in my pain levels. He is kind and willing to listen to my sometimes incoherent ramblings about my pain situation. I am so glad he was recommended to me.

I saw Dr. Sun to remove a recurring cyst on my foot. He talked with me about the options, pros/cons, and likelihood of an outcome I’d consider successful. He was amenable to scheduling the surgery at the time that was best for my work and insurance coverage. Surgery day went very smoothly. Recovery was as described. Follow up visits were included in the cost of surgery. Office staff/medical assistants were very responsive to my questions and helpful. Dr. Sun was professional, knowledgeable, skilled, and kind. I’d recommend him without reservation.

Dr. Sun is very professional and honest. This was my 2nd time seeing him, and once again am so grateful for his knowledge. He helped me realize what needed to be done for my injury and answered all my questions. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Sun listened to me and made sure that imaging was done. He had them set up an MRI for me as well. He was very kind and I could tell he was genuine and wanted to help me get on the road to recovery. He has a great beside manner and I know I chose the right doctor going forward.
