If you or someone you know is struggling with mental illness please, please do not attend an appointment with this dr. I made a same day appointment as I was experiencing what I thought was an adverse reaction to a sleep aid which was prescribed by another dr. 2 days earlier to help with my depression and insomnia. I was terrified. I was filled with fear that I was dying. I felt completely broken with my depression and this medication making me worse. What I experienced with this dr only served to intensify my depression and fear that I will never be ok. His interaction with me was filled with attacking criticism, shame and disrespect. At no point was I made to feel like my well being was important to him. I was shown no respect, dignity or compassion for the state of despair I have been living in. He made certain to let me know that he “is a Doctor.” Sadly it is dr’s like this man that furthers the stigma of mental health and adds to a health care system that is failing us.

What I like best about family medicine is the ability to form long-term relationships with people of all ages. It has been a privilege to be invited into their lives to help solve the "puzzles" that bring them to the clinic. I like to take a collaborative approach with the patient to determine the plan of care.
