Dr. Goshawn Chawla, MD

This doctor and I have never met. I did try and meet him but of course he would not spare time to meet the plebian mother of the child he's treating. My child has been out of treatment for over three months and I'm still getting letters from my insurance that he's trying to appeal with my insurance for more intensive outpatient care. This care is not necessary and I have not requested it. It's certainly pricey and he's very committed to appealing the decision, without my knowledge or consent. Again, this man and I should have been working together... But he is too busy in his ivory tower. I was left with the unsavory impression that he wants insurance payments and he wants you to shut up because he's the doctor. You will be at your most vulnerable with your children and he's basically licking his chops as he looks at their paperwork. I went to Providence Memorial ER El Paso, TX for a check up since I was having chest pain. After beign seen by several doctors Dr. Chawla came and started asking me for my insurance, my copay, where I worked and who I lived with and where. He left and set an appointement for the next day. All this time I thought he was the billing clerk until I got a bill of $300 dollars for his psychiatric services. I was shocked and called asking why a psychiatrist went to see me without my consent and why I was charging this money for asking insurance and job related questions while I was in the ER /Hospital for a chest pain check up. This doctor either charged the wrong patient or he took advantage of my situation just to cash in on the insurance, and if this is the case he is a thief.
