Soft-spokek professional, dedicated to providing the most effective, individualized pain management services, possible to his clients. Not a “Chatty Cathy”, yet pleasant and unassuming. I’ve had the pleasure of calling Dr. Mortensen my doctor for almost ten years. He is serious about his practice and any physician/patient contract drafted. My previous pain management “surgeon/doctor”, lacked most of the fore mentioned virtues. Living with chronic pain is physically and emotionally challenging enough - one’s quality of life is already compromised. Finding Dr. Mortensen was and remains, a blessing I cannot fully articulate. But I decided to try.

If you want your pain “managed”, then DO NOT go to Dr. Mortensen. If you want your pain to continue, pay for unnecessary office visits, and take medications that do absolutely NOTHING to help reduce your pain, then by all means give him a call. I’ve been going to Dr. Gordon Mortensen for my chronic lower back pain for a couple of years now and my pain has not subsided in the least. I currently have a spinal cord stimulator permanently in my back, that does NOT work and never did work. I just let the battery slowly die, and I never want to think about it again. I’ve taken every medication he’s ever asked me to take exactly how he prescribed it. Nothing has EVER worked. My back pain just keeps getting worse every day. I don’t see an end in sight. Today I’ve decided to stop going to Dr. Mortensen, and try to find a doctor that will actually do something to reduce my pain, not just lead me along and take my money.

Dr. Mortensen is the finest pain doctor I have ever encountered. Not only is he professional, he is also a very caring and interested physician. Consider yourself fortunate if you have an opportunity to have an appointment with him. He is highly regarded by his patients as well as his peers.

I don’t pick a doctor at random, I investigate what doctor to see by getting recommendations from people who work within the hospital, within the specialty for which I'm seeking a doctor. Not everyone has the ability to vet their doctors as I do, but, I can assure you, Dr. Mortensen was highly recommended. Scheduling and rescheduling my appointments were simple and convenient. Nothing but a positive experience during my appointments with Dr. Mortensen and the staff at Innovative Pain Care.

I would never recommend Dr Mortenson to anyone. His primary focus is money vs a patient. When it takes his staff over 6 weeks to get a prior authorization, that in reality, after checking with my insurance, never needed one.....it still was another 2 weeks to schedule. Where does that leave a patient? It leaves a patient suffering an unnessary 2 months, because of lousy and incompetent staff.

If you want to go to a pain clinic with absolutely no compassion then you've found your doctors. None of them care. I don't understand why they are pain doctors when they don't care when someone is suffering. Do yourself a favor, go elsewhere. These jerks don't deserve your money!!!! Even the secretary is rude.

I would love to give a review on the doctor, but in the 4 years that I've been seen under his care at the Franklin location, I have seen him twice. One of those times, he was administering facet injections and I was receiving laughing gas, so I'm not sure that time even counts. I am constantly told Well, Dr. Mortensen says/thinks ___ but when asked if I can see the man who is supposedly providing answers and care from afar...the answer is somehow always No.?

when called after procedure due extreme headache, pain, and nausea I was told it's Friday, why don't you go out for a fish fry. If I would've known that a fish fry would cure my condition, I'd go every week. I would give zero stars, but that wasn't an option.
