Dr. Gharanai Payind, MD

Troubling Incorrect Diagnosis. During a visit at Riverside Hospital Dr. Gharanai Abdul Payind reviewed my patient history and put in my medical notes that my condition was "Possibly all psychosomatic (most likely)." Fast forward from September 2019 to October 2022 when I received the correct diagnosis by a qualified, caring doctor using bloodwork and clinical analysis confirming the exact disease I requested evaluation and testing during my hospitalization. That generic use of a label "psychosomatic" for any patient is very troubling to read especially in retrospect when there are physical symptoms finally proven to be caused by infection. My efforts to get help in that moment were trivialized and judged wrongly, and Dr. Payind put on record that my condition was likely in my head. I cannot recommend this doctor for missing my diagnosis and two more years of searching and difficulties.

Was in Marietta Memorial with a patient. I am her caregiver. He is exceptionally careful, listens, takes the time that is needed to make you feel he is truly interested in your well being. Was not standing in the room with one foot out the door.
