Arrogant, rude and
I see him for a bladder issue. He spent very little time with me, no eye contact, lots of tests, pushed his agenda, then never saw him again. I only get to see his nurse. Then I heard three accounts of his foul language during procedures when he thinks patients cant hear him, and rough treatment during UNNECESSARY biopsies. It is stressful enough to have these issues and then a doctor treats you like you dont matter to him is distressing.

Highly recommend Dr. Pregenzer
Transrectal Prostrate Biopsy - words to strike fear in a man's heart! I was expecting an excruciating experience. Turns out "mild discomfort" is a better way to explain it. Both during the procedure and after. If you need one, go to him. I've had 2 appointments with him, including the procedure. He was exactly on time for each and spent as much time with me as I needed. Not the usual experience with insurance driven medicine today. Both Dr. Pregenzer and office staff are quick, efficient and no-nonsense. That could be the source of some of the negative reviews. But that works for for me. If you engage and ask questions, they take all the time needed to put you at ease. Just not a lot of cuddling.

excellent urologist !
I went to Dr. Pregenzer to discuss a euro-lift procedure to deal with BPH. Before proceeding with that procedure, he suggested a check on my rising PSA via blood test, then a prostate MRI and finally a prostate biopsy. This picked up metastatic prostate cancer....which UCONN Urology had TOTALY missed!

Terrible Experience
Pregenzer is cagey and dismissive in his responses to patients. His office staff may be the most inept group of people I've ever experienced. Hard pass.

I was referred to Dr. Pregenzer for treating early signs of BPH. His approach to my condition was very conservative and as such he kept watch on my symptoms over a couple of years. As this issue became more of a problem he recommended all the available options for treatment and we (both him and myself) agreed upon a treatment option. It was a non-invasive surgery with a history of success. I was skeptical at first, but he thoroughly explained the procedure, benefits and possible side-effects. Suffice to say the procedure went off without a hitch and I am 100% satisfied with the outcome. I see my relationship with this kind of a doctor as a long-term engagement and am happy to have him as my current provider as well as into the future.

after a rocky start and Saint Francis Emergency Room I was referred to Dr Ppregenzer office. His office had me in surgery within 24 hours to remove my 6.2 mm kidney . Not only did I have a large kidney stone I had a kidney infection. took a few weeks to clear everything up and get back to feeling normal. I recommend him and his staff to anyone

I went and had a procedure done at the office, after it was done I was in excruciating pain. I was crying and unable to get myself together. I spent 20 minutes in that room screaming in pain and no one came to check on me. If not for my husband, I don’t know what would have happened. I would not recommend this practice, they simply don’t care.

Dr. Pregenzer is a top notch physician! I’m so lucky I found him. Not only does he listen but he truly cares for his patients. The whole experience has been exceptional. Everyone in the office is delightful. All I can say is if you need a Urologist he’s the one to go too!

Very efficiently run office. First time meeting with Dr. Pregenzer. I went along with my husband for his first office visit, and was very impressed with his professionalism and "light" sense of humor. So glad my husband has him as his urologist.
