Dr. Gerard Myers, DO

After 2 mins over video he tried to override three other specialists with CT’s mri ect. Said he know better without exam no test nothing Demanded to to a procedure I declined so he stops all my meds. Beware

He's a highly intelligent guy. He used to be a very caring doctor, but he seems to have changed. Perhaps it was the onset of the opioid epidemic or the love of money for his retirement fund. He was never big about being on time or even showing up for appointments because, apparently, you needed him more than he needed you. You were just one of many whom he had to see in that day with a waiting room full of patients. He is licensed to practice in many different states which makes me wonder if he isn't prescribing to some important and wealthy people, thus making beaucoup bucks. Plus, he travels a lot and seems to work at many different medical facilities when his own practice is very busy and people wait long for appts. That being said, I can say that he was excellent at giving you injections and doing any procedures that required needles. I chose not to deal with his ways of not being appreciative of the patients who made him successful in the 1st place and found a new Dr.

Feb 2023 Dr. Myers is new to the practice that I go to in Arizona. He said he is from Pennsylvania.I am seeing surgeons in Scottsdale because I am in a rural Arizona town. I am going to a pain clinic in my city as directed by my spine doc. Dr. Meyers read old MRI (my new one was not uploaded to their system yet) and did not ask me for my history or learn about what I have been facing. He was hung up on the fact that he has "been practicing for 30 years" and knows better than anybody what is going on with me. Rather than try to learn about me, about what I have tried, and about why I am seeing doctors out of town, he was dismissive, argumentative & combative. I have been going to this pain office for 1 year while I have been through batteries of tests, MRI's & injections. Dr. Myers was incensed that I would come to his practice (he's new there) and get pain mangement from them and yet see Barrow Brain and Spine (arguably the best in the world) to try to come up with a treatment plan.

Very caring doctor who knows his business.
