I have seen Dr. Fernando for over a year for a variety of mental health needs including addiction. He is genuine, kind, respectful and caring! He is the perfect doctor to treat addiction as he places no judgment. Dr. Fernando is an advocate for mental health, healthcare and harm reduction. I would recommend him to anyone with a desire to seek mental healthcare. Kern County is blessed to have him treating our community!

My son went to see Dr Fernando for anxiety and sleep problems. My son had overcome addiction by going to rehab for 3 months and while there they placed him on psych meds, but when he came home he decided to get off them. He was doing well for 11 months when his anxiety started interfering in his daily life. So he decided to seek professional help again and took his discharge papers from rehab that showed he was taking 600 mg of seraquel at discharge after 3 months of medical supervision. Well THIS Dr started him on 600 mg and within 3 days my son passed by suicide due to overprescribing of this medication and a psychotic breakdown brought on by too high of a dose. I have a medical board letter to prove it! I’ll leave it at that. I could have sued but I didn’t want any $$ for my son’s death. The medical board proved I was right. My son was clean and sober, had just enrolled in college and was starting his new life. Be careful, advocate for yourself, or your loved ones.
