I can only give this surgeon a 5-star rating
I arrived at Brigham Boston in full A-fib, in such chestpain as I could not have imagined. I had a blood staph & they epically kept me alive until I was cleared for my quad & carotid by-passes 11 days later. I had a leg clot found after my 'balloon' and my leg was opened for relief, then an exploratory for possible bowel damage -- all surgeries within 5 days.Dr Tolis was the lead surgeon and I felt and know that he took special interest in my care. A warm & sure-handed man, he gave me encouragement & I knew his team was watching me closely. In short, this is one 5-star doctor in every sense. I have to thank ALL the doctors, nurses, aides and everyone I came into contact with. I know I was on the precipice at every juncture, & I know they saved my life again & again. I can only hope that my new lease & promises I've made can give justices to they who saved me. As they say, faces and names may fade, but the acts of professionalism and compassion will always be cherished. And I will.

Recent GABG x 2
Dr Tolis performed my GABG x 2 on 9/15/22. He’s an extremely skilled surgeon, and his surgical team is an amazingly “ Best in Class” group of professionals. Dr. Tolis and his team helped me feel at ease before my surgery and the true center of their attention post surgery. My surgery was 100% successful and here I am 5 weeks post-op feeling terrific! Thank you Dr. Tolis and your team for taking such great care of me.

I was scheduled for surgery in January 2020 and at the 11th hour my surgeon had to cancel due to illness. Dr. Tolis stepped in and performed the surgery and everything went flawless from my perspective. He did the surgery late Friday afternoon and I was home Tuesday morning.

He is truthfully, compassionate, understanding, through in his explanations and most of all, a great surgeon, in my opinion. He saved my life after being rejected by nearby surgeons who claimed I would not survive the operation on my heart. He checked on me several times after discharge.

He is a great Surgeon, knowledgeable, patient and showed fantastic care to his patient. My father is 82 years old. The surgery is very complicated. He conducted a 6 bypass and 1 valve replacement heart surgery for my father in Dec. The surgery is very successful! He stopped by patient care unit often to make sure my father’s recovery in a good progress and he answered all our concerns. We highly recommend him to other patients for his high skill, knowledge in the field and his care to patients.
