As an individual, I believe Dr. Christophi is a nice man. As a practice, it's not good. My main issue is frustration. I have been fighting severe abdominal pain for 5 to 6 months. Here is why I am frustrated: - There is ZERO movement in resolving my issue. NONE. I have seen Dr. Christophi 4 times in the last 2 months including a post-ER folup for this issue. Each time I have seen him, it's like I'm a new patient. Does he not have my medical history or at least my medical history with him??? - Dr. Christophi put in a "stat" test. I contacted MRMC per his direction, only to be told that they do not do the test. MRMC stated I could go to Rockledge, but they're closing and that I should call Dr. Christophi back to reschedule. I did that and nothing ever happened. - Again, every time I go in, it's like the first time he's seen me. Not an issue because he probably sees a ton of people, but you would think my record would indicate that I am an active patient with his group. - Admittedly, I blew up today out of frustration and walked out of his office. I expressed that this pain is severe and have bad nauseousness to the point where I'm in the bathroom ready to throw up. He ordered an endoscopy and colonoscopy. The issue? It would be a month before I could get in. A MONTH! Did anyone care? Nope. Just let me walk out. Did anyone follow up about my frustration? Nope. I have severe abdominal pain and his response is to evaluate this over the next 3 or 4 months. Sorry, that is unacceptable. I don't care if you're busy, you're supposed to help people, not treat them like a paycheck. I will be contacting my healthcare provider as well as that this office reports to. It's unsatisfactory.

Dr Christophi took a lot of time with me. He explained all about the procedure I was going to have. Very pleasant. The day off my procedure went very well. No problems. He spoke with myself and my husband. On my flowed up appt, it was done on the phone. Great personality. He explained what our next step would be. He is sending me to a surgeon and we will see where we go from here.

My son has de-compensated advanced-stage cirrhosis. He said it was compensated. Compensated have virtually no symptoms while de-compensated symptoms include jaundice, ascites, confusion, fatigue, and he never touched my son or took vitals. My son had a sonogram of his liver two weeks ago. Christophi wanted another one done. Why?

Very Upset
I had been sick since September and Dr. Christophi got me in and seen quickly. He has excellent bedside manner and was very personable and willing to listen! I give him Major kudos! So now here it is January I got my blood work done and called the office to get the results and got the run around several times before I came into the office only to be told that they don’t accept my new insurance. I specifically asked when I called initially if my insurance changing would be a problem and she told me no I just needed a referral. I got another call from another nurse telling me they couldn’t give me my results over the phone and I explained I was told I needed a referral and I was struggling to get it and she was supposed to get back to me and guess what….. nothing! Now today I show up to be told he doesn’t even except it! His office really needs to get it together as he is an excellent doctor with a stellar bedside manner! I’m very disappointed I won’t be seeing him any longer!

Zero follow through / no action
Dr. Christophi was kind and attentive during my initial first visit/consultation. Unfortunately his verbal recommendation as to how to follow up with a treatment was NEVER issued in a written way, so NOTHING ever happened beyond this first consultation. My attempts to contact his office (three separate phone calls) were NEVER answered! I then showed up three times in person at the front desk and still without any action on Dr. Christophi's nor his staff's part and also no appointment was set for any future date toward a proposed treatment plan as per Dr. Christophi's recommendation. My initial appointment was in Mid-June and almost three months have passed. The bill was issued and was paid, but for what?

Best GI And Worst Staff
No one works harder, longer, or more diligently than Dr. Christophi. Having Crohn’s/Colitis himself, he is compassionate and open-minded to all of his patients. You will not find a better GI in all of Florida, if not the entire country! His staff is beyond useless. Their main concerns are what they’re having for lunch, the music playing in the office, or Mother’s Day gifts. You, as a patient, do not matter to them. Please believe the other people who say the staff does not pick up the phone for days, weeks, even months. You will have to drive there in-person to have any contact. Dr. Christophi cares about you. His staff does not.

Horrible doctor
My husband was left in the hospital with gastro issues for over 2 days on a liquid diet waiting to see him. The nurses and on shift doctors tried to contact him and were to he would come see my husband the next day, this was 2 days of this. My husband tried to call him as well and left a voicemail with no call back. When he finally gets to see my husband tells him know colonoscopy needed and my husband ask why have you been having me on liquids for 3 day, Dr response to help you feel better .

Gives incorrect info/Doesn't reply to calls/email
The nurses and off staff were great and answered questions. The appointment with the doctor 3 minutes. He took no notes. In the portal he stated my doctor referred me for pain, called me by female pronouns, went over risks, time to ask questions, and I had an appetite loss, none of which was true. He wouldn't correct them til the next time we met. He got upset during the telehealth because he was at home and I asked to correct those things. I didn't ask for an after hours call. He gave med and I found out by searching online, it was GERD medication just a another brand. Maybe it would have harmed me had I taken both. It was in capsule form which I can't swallow, which he knew. I tried calling, emailing, and mailing a letter to get answers on which meds to take and if the one he gave for it to be tablets. No reply. He told me couldn't help me any further during the call yet had someone call to make another appointment with no reason given and didn't answer my questions about the meds.

Dr. Christophi is the best gastroenterologist and best doctor I've ever had. I've had ulcerative colitis for 15 years and have seen countless doctors, and he is the first who I ever felt genuinely cared about my well-being. Having Chron's disease himself, he understands what it's like to have an IBD. Additionally, he does research and is on the cutting edge of treatment. He truly listens to his patients, respects them, and takes time to clearly present care plans and the clinical trials behind his recommendations. I've never felt so safe and cared for with a doctor. I'm devastated that he moved from St. Louis to Florida- anybody who works with him is incredibly lucky and will receive the best care. I can't recommend him highly enough.

I saw Dr. Christophi in July 2018.He spent a lot of time with me but never actually examined me.I've had ulcerative colitis for 30yrs & had been in a flare for 3mons.He gave me samples of Lialda & took me off the other drugs I'd been taking. When the samples ran out, I called & talked to Angie who told me to take Imodium 8/day until I could get on the Humira asst program. I have "mild" UC & I didn't want to take an immune suppressant. This office is single minded that Humira was my only option.

Absolutely would not recommend. Dr. Christophi admitted that he made a mistake when billing me, but it was too late. I'm still trying to pay off the $4500 that his office charged me. He also seems to be contracted with one specific medication, because he pushed for it relentlessly. After doing some research, I was absolutely not a candidate. Plus, his nurse is seemingly completely incompetent. If you need anything done, don't expect her to do it right or on time.
