I always go to him and I’ve seen him long enough he knows me. I drive 30 miles one way . I pass a few urgent care ect. But I want him he fixes me and I have him as my regular Dr. I’d say. He takes time with you if needed. He looks you over and gets me well.

Dr. Astin was wonderful with our 6 year old when he got a severe case of swimmers ear. He was so patient and kind—above and beyond. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience as out of towners in need of a doctor.

Dr. Astin has been "my doctor" for a couple of years. I seldom have to wait. He is very pleasant to talk with and seems up to date. I have moved to Foley now, but still drive to this American Family Clinic in Orange Beach becasue of the good experience.

Prescribed a potentially fatal med. for me. Called and told him but he acted like I was uninformed. Then, he realized his mistake and prescribed another med that doesn't even treat my condition! I was diagnosed with sinusitis, severe otitis media and tonsillitis. He didnt perform a strep test, etc. Not a safe place

Snowbird with no doctor. An office in Gulf Shores refused to treat me because my insurance doesn't pay fast enough. Via internet we found American Family Care in Orange Beach. Dr. Astin and the entire staff went above and beyond. Don't know when I have been so impressed. My husband even said he wished we could give six stars!

After an injury, I visited AFC and was seen by Dr. Astin, I told him the medication I could take, he prescribed a different medication instead. I had an allergic reaction to the medication he prescribed and I contacted his office, he would NOT prescribe a different medication and did not ask to see me again for a review of the allergic reaction, he did not have any concern or empathy and I was told I could come back in but it would be full charge and I would have to wait again. TERRIBLE!

We are in town on vacation with our family when my husband was injured yesterday. Saw dr Astin who initially tried to prescribe my husband a medication he is allergic to, saying the pill form wouldn't hurt him. Only after I insisted my husband wouldn't be taking it did he change it to an different NSAID and another medication equivalent to Benadryl. He never assessed my husband, didn't touch him once. Very disappointed he is trying to get returning customers by not doing a thorough job.
