Dr. George A Godette, MD

I went to see Dr Godette in Staunton a few years ago ended up having a torn meniscus & the other was flipped & damaged. He cleaned up & saved the flipped one, removed the torn one, & cleaned up torn cartilage in my knee. He said the shot wouldnt even be worth it that surgery was the only option. Im glad I had it. He was very attentive to the fact that I have kidney disease & treated me appropriately so it wouldnt cause problems with my kidneys when prescribing medication during & after the surgery. He was very kind & helped with the anxiety before my surgery by explaining step by step what he would be doing surgically. He checked on me in recovery & explained everything to my husband from my surgery to the recovery. Seen him twice after surgery, he said I in fact healed faster than expected. Hands down best surgeon Ive had in my lifetime. He is the only Dr. I will see if I have any issues like this in the future. Huge Thank you to Dr Godette.

Went to him after months of shoulder pain. He sent me for an X-ray. Next appointment he tells me I have a small impingement. He sent me to Physical Therapy that made my shoulder hurt more than before. The Physical Therapist wrote a letter suggesting I needed a MRI. Next appointment he feels my shoulder and says his hands are as good as a MRI. He also tells me my insurance wouldn’t pay for a MRI without trying a steroid shot first. He had not contacted my insurance at all, he just assumed they wouldn’t pay. I told him no shot because I have a severe reaction to steroid shots. He was adamant I get the shot. I left the appointment. A few months later I went to a different doctor who sent me for a MRI (which my insurance approved immediately) and found I had severe arthritis and a 1 1/2 inch hole in my rotator cuff and needed surgery to fix it. Don’t go to him. Arrogant, unkind, shot pusher.

My all time favorite Doc. I would never let another Orthopedic Dr work on me!! He goes above and beyond and fixes other Doctors mistakes. He is great and so is his staff

I only wish I had found Dr Godette sooner. I needed a special replacement knee joint which not every surgeon can work with. As far as I am concerned, Dr. Godette is the finest Dr. I have been associated with in my life. He did a wonderful job with the replacement surgery and I see him each year for a follow up to make sure all is well. You are # 1 in my book Dr.

Dr. Godette was one of the most professional, caring and thorough doctor's I have ever seen. He set down and talk calmly with me with real concern and professionalism. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I wish I could have him as a family doctor. Caring and educated physician. Thank you Dr. Godette for a wonderful experience.
