Dr. Geoffrey Delaurier, MD

On 9/13/19, I was seen by Dr. Delaurier in the ED of Los Alamitos Medical Center. About three months after all other medical claims for this ED visit and hospital admission were closed, I received a claim from Dr. Delaurier for $2578.00 for his brief consult. He refused to accept the agreed upon payment from my health insurance plan and referred an outstanding balance of $437.10 to a collection agency. My health plan agreed to pay the remaining balance in late June 2019. On August 23, 2019 I was alerted that a derogatory statement about collections had been filed on my credit record by the Collection Agency - even though payment had BEEN MADE to Dr. Delaurier. I would not recommend this physician nor the Emergency Room practice with whom he is affiliated. In addition, I will also actively work to inform my colleagues in health care, my health plan using any social media platform available to help protect other patients from these predatory practices.

Very poor dr. Horrible bed side manor, no compassion. And refused to send home patient with a copy of labs/report. Lack of communication, and inability to answer questions
