Dr. Gene Choi, MD

I just want to say that I have had the worst experience dealing with you Choi, as well as your staff. I sent a message 10/04 to ask a question about an abnormality on my test results, which you never responded. I had a scheduled surgery 10/11, no one from your office, including Choi, never called or told me my surgery was canceled. I had to call chois office to find out, which is completely unacceptable. I had my wife and myself take off from work for nothing. 10/10 I asked for a doctor's note to return back to work, which you ignored. I called your office 10/17 with a sense of urgency to try to make another appointment, again no return call. I would never let a doctor (Choi) cut me open that doesn't have any regard or concern for his patients. You're very sloppy and dysfunctional; and need more schooling on how to be appropriate and accommodating with your patients. So glad I didn't get surgery with you!!! Too many RED FLAGS.....

After 2 failed rotator cuff tears on the same shoulder Dr Choi had to go in blindly to repair it as the previous surgeon had used so many small anchors that Dr Choi could not get a clear MRI. He gave me hope when no other surgeon would even attempt a third repair. So far so good and it may not be 100% but considering what he had to work with it is the most I could have asked for and at least now it is functional. He is a wonderful, compassionate doctor.

I am very impressed with Dr. Gene Choi. 5 stars-but because of facility I won't recommend him. Nurse is rude and condescending - 1 star, scheduling surgery 1 star (delayed and cancelled); getting first appointment 0 stars (even w/ppo I was told I needed a referral). Accident resulted in 3 torn tendons and 2 muscle tears but my surgery wasn't done for 47 days. My opinion is that Dr. Choi needs to go to a facility that is high standards like he is. RMC is a horrible place to deal with
