Ascending aorta repair surgery
Dr. Velamoor provided clear understandable explanations of my condition and the procedure. His communication skills definitely helped ease any potential nerves. For what it worth, I asked numerous medical professionals about how good he was and the response was uniformly very positive. A couple even volunteered that if their parents had a similar condition, they would send them to Dr. V.

Dr.Velamoor was very thorough in explaining my conditions and options for treatment. He was also very helpful in answering non medical questions concerning the logistics of where we could stay, transportation and even billing. He cleared up tons of anxieties I had about going to Seattle for treatment. I live in East Wenatchee, so this was very helpful.

I'm alive!
Open heart surgery 4+ years ago. Did a great job. So did all of the staff who cared for me. Just had a followup appointment in Arizona where I live now, and everything looks great.

Excellent Physician
I needed my aortic valve replaced and I live in a smaller town so I did a consultation with Dr. Velamoor. He was extremely patient with all my questions and explained everything very thoroughly, as opposed to my local heart surgeon. The procedure went smoothly except for some extra work they had to do but overall it turned out great and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him!

I had a CABG-3 done on me 8-19-2020 under emergency conditions and I was frightened to say the least. This Doctor took the time to set me at ease prior to the procedure. After the surgery, this doctor stopped in my room and handed me this heart pillow (I still have) telling in writing that he wishes me a full recovery and signed it. I am home now recovering and was not for Dr. Velamoor, my life would not have the guaranteed 15 more good years of my life. I am a single man with no relatives nearby and no siblings; so my support system is my faith. Thank you Dr. Velamoor for what you did for me. Ricky L. Johansen, Jr., Ph.D. (Lacey, WA)

How anyone could rate him less than 5 stars is hard for me to understand. After 13 surgeries, the 6 way bypass being the most difficult, he is the first surgeon to see me every day after the surgery, including weekends, and I think he did a great job. I had a cardio ultrasound recently and the technician commented that, "whoever did your bypasses knew what he his doing and left one of the cleanest plumbing jobs I have see." This my be a bit paraphrased but it was the gist of the conversation. I met him in the critical care ward so I was never in his office.
