Dr. Gary Willen, MD

Dr. Willen & his MA are great! His office staff are horrible. They tried to bully me into wearing a mask when I couldn’t prove I had the “vaccine” or it’s booster in the last 6 months. We should be way past this! 11/22

As a perinatal RN, I worked with Dr. Willen at Barton Hospital for 20+ years. My impression is that he is extremely knowledgeable, professional and skilled (especially surgically). He is like an encyclopedia of OB/GYN knowledge and was the go-to doctor when the staff had questions. He was always informed of the latest medical news and techniques. Dr. Willen has been my OB/GYN as long as he’s been practicing in the Tahoe/Carson area, performing annual routine care and two GYN surgeries. Both were very successful. The second surgery was an emergency and even though Dr. Willen was not on-call, he immediately drove up to Tahoe to preform the procedure, as he was familiar with my history. He was able to quickly and accurately diagnose the condition after a physical exam and review of diagnostic testing. I always recommend Dr. Willen to anyone who asks.

Best ,most knowledge Doctor . I have been coming to Dr.Willen for over 15 years and he is always respectful and kind as well . His staff is very friendly as well .

Dr Willen and his team are very professional and caring . There office was very well run, thanks to the wonderful office manager Susanne . I was never keep waiting and I was treated with respect. Any and all questioned were addressed. Can’t recommend Dr Willen and his team enough .

This doctor's office has very poor service. Once they realized they would only be getting a small amount from my fraud health insurance they cancelled my appointment and refused to see me. Nurse Ratchet aka Suzanne wouldn't even ask me if i could pay out of pocket it was just i am cancelling your appointment. if you have something wrong with you choose a doctor's office that wants to help you. This office is not helping women who need help.

I do not reccommend Dr. Willen because he was insensitive and had an attitude with me. He wanted to give me an IUD as a form of birth control. I told him no. But he insisted on giving me an exam to see if it was an option. During the exam, he didn't bother to ask if I was okay. He just jammed the speculum inside real fast. Causing me to scream in pain saying Ow three times. And then gave me an attitude after taking the speculum out. I don't trust him and neither should anyone else.

I saw Dr Willen recently due to lower abdominal pain which was preceded by a UTI (urinary tract infection.) He and his office were so efficient...I had an exam, they scheduled blood work and a CT Scan immediately, and Dr Willen reviewed he results with me....All within 24 hours! I definitely recommend Dr Willen

I have been seeing Dr. Willen for over 6 years and find him very knowledgable and professional. Dr. Willen certainly knows what he talks about. I have recommended him to many of my friends and they are very pleased with him too.

I came in for an annual exam and wanted to discuss a previously diagnosed condition. Dr did not allow me to speak, but talked over me and recommended an expensive procedure. No concern whatsoever to hear my concerns. I was then billed for both the exam and a second $122 office visit for the 1 minute question. Nice. The staff are wonderful and they would be better off with a better Doctor. Find another Doctor.

I have seen Dr Willen for many, many years. He was always extremely professional, considerate and helpful. He is very straight forward and explained my options clearly. I have recommended and will recommend Dr Willen to my friends and family.

Terrible service. Was very rough with me without any warning. Didn't want to listen to the concerns I've been having, and brushed aside any conversation outside of the reason I was referred to him. He only cares about pushing patients in and out as quickly as possible with no regard to taking the time needed to be thorough. Was in tears leaving because I spent so much money to be treated poorly and not given the opportunity to get some information on why I was experiencing the problems I have.
