Dr. Gary Katz, DO

He answered all of my questions and has a great bed side manor to his patients.

He cares about the patient, very thoughtfull to a person with weight issues and respects your feelings as your tryi g to get your self back from obesity

Dr Katz is quite possibly one of the most caring and supportive doctors I’ve ever seen in my almost 40 years on this earth. He genuinely cares about his patients and spends lots of time with you and does everything to make you feel comfortable and listened to and is the least judgmental doctor I’ve met. I wish more doctors were like him, and I’m so thankful for him and his very kind and compassionate staff. He did my sleeve surgery and my gallbladder removal surgery just about a year apart and was absolutely fantastic to work with and keeps in good contact with you!

I had my original surgery through another hospital. On one occassion I had to see Doc because I needed a feeding tube due to a throat issue. There was an issue with that n he patched me all up, and said if I got too low of a weight again to come back. Well... unfortunately, I'm back. Dr. Katz always listens intently on every symptom or issue i had after the fact. Became extremely malabsorbant after, and he is on top of it all, very seriously. Has a great bedside manner, professional but personable. Very compassionate!! Will go to no other when I have any issues! I just hope he doesnt retire too soon like all my other specialists have. Wouldnt know who to trust, like I do him!! As this is my number 1 health complaint issue, I truly would be lost if he was gone.

Dr. Katz performed my Gastric Bypass in March 2022. I have successfully lost 130 pounds. I continue to see him every six months which keeps me accountable for my continued weight loss. I am considering having the panniculectomy procedure done by Dr. Katz to remove my excess skin. The office staff is EXCELLENT. They assist with anything that is needed.

Follow up Appointment, have been with Dr.Katzs for years now.

Dr.Katz is a very good listener and i appreciate that not to mention he is a great surgeon that has me with a healthy life now with me helping myself my visit was great all my level's were great happy lady

I want to thank dr.katz for making me healthy again.with the surgery and eating the way u need to after surgery and the exercises u do to keep u healthy I am off of all my medications I was on.dr katz is the best there is for weight loss surgery.u can't get any better than him.thank you so much

All my visits have been in person, not telehealth, staff has been courteous and helpful. Occasionally I have had to wait a brief period of time before being called back into the office, but the office has been busy on those days.

It was an unexpected visit. My primary doctor sent me there. I thought I was going to see a nutritionist. Everyone was kind and friendly and gave me something to think about.

Came in for a consultation. Dr. Katz came highly recommended, but I would not do the same. He completely dismissed me upon coming in the room. Asked me several times “what could he do for me.” Then told me rudely that I was “too small” for surgery. Didn’t ask what led me to seeking out this option. I had somehow lost weight between the appointment and consultation. Didn’t try and investigate that either. Dismissed any health concerns I had as “not enough wrong with me.” I didn’t come into this appointment lightly. It took a year of discussion before I set foot in the door and was taken aback at how quickly I was dismissed. I am not a tiny person by any means. Had he handled this differently, it wouldn’t have mattered. But, to dismiss me outright and question why I scheduled the appointment despite qualifying on the phone is uneccesary.

i went to Dr. Katz in 2015 for gastric sleeve. I didnt know I had a hiatal hernia repair till I saw my provider 5 days later. when I asked dr. katz why do I have 5 holes instead of 3 after surgery he said I was a special patient. he never explained I had an additional surgery. I had complications eating solid foods 2 months after and ended up switching to Beaumont who did a full bypass on me June of 2017 due to my complications I can now eat more then soup. I suggest get a dmc doctor or Beaumont

Dr Katz is the best he is such a caring and good doctor I just had surgery and was so n nervous but he made me feel safe everything came out really good it was a success I would recommend him to anyone

Dr. Katz performed two different surgeries on me. After the first surgery I fell in love with his care, concern, patience and over all bedside manners. I have referred several people to see Dr. Gary Katz because I trust him and he has been successful with the services he has provided.
