Such an incredible doctor and highly recommend
I highly recommend Dr. Gary Colon as a Neurosurgeon and I couldn’t say enough about how wonderful of a surgeon he is. I have used him for 2 spinal surgeries now as he did a Microdiscectomy and Hemilaminectomy back in August 2023 as well as an Anterior Lumbar Fusion as well on me in March of 2025. I wouldn’t trust anyone else in the Naples area to do a spinal surgery on me and I trust him and his opinion over any other surgeon in this area. He takes a very conservative approach and only goes to surgical if he thinks it’s absolutely necessary and after trying other conservative treatments first. He really gives you all the details you need to know and prepares you with detailed info and ultimately respects your decision for plan of care.He is really thorough and takes the time to address and answer his patients questions and concerns and does it in a way that is on a level you can understand too. Colon is very polite and he has great bedside manners. I also love the other staff in his

Comfortable and confident
During our consultation it became obvious Dr Colon is not only a great surgeon, he gave me confidence that everything would be alright. From the first consultation to surgery was two weeks. All pre-op functions were efficiently scheduled and went off without a hitch. Everyone all around knew what they were doing and did it with a pleasant attitude. From arrival to the hospital to departure took 5 hours. He spent time discussing the surgery with my wife, she couldn’t be happier. After the first day I had less pain than before the surgery, after the second day I had no pain and looked forward to the healing process. After two weeks I feel great. With the pain I was in I feel like it was a miracle to be where I am today. Thank you Dr Colon, you and your staff are incredible.

Lumbar Fusion #2
When I first went to Dr, Colon I asked him if he could make me walk without pain. He said he could. However 5 months after the first surgery 2 screws broke and was making a loud noise and causing extreme pain. It took 4 months to get a second surgery and has been even more painful ever since. He referred me to his pain management Dr. Krueger that kept telling me that there are only 5 kinds of pain, but could not relieve any of it, after a year of treatment the pain is still unbearable. I am stuck sitting in a chair or lying in bed the rest of my life. These doctors are in it for your money not for your relief, so sad , but true. They made it worse not better. Dr Krueger just gave up trying, blocked my patient portal and refuse to help period. Apparently I am the only one they cannot fix, their worst patient. Please prove me wrong!!!!!!!!

Dr. Colon and his staff were exceptional. The doctor is excellent and in great demand, but given the severity of my condition they gave me an immediate appointment. Yesterday was my surgery and today I am pain free. I am so grateful to have this caliber of surgeon available to me in Naples, FL. Thank you Dr. Colon, his PA John, assistant Bridgett, and scheduler Linda. You made a true difference in my life.

Dr. Colon's partner did my back surgery 2 1/2 yrs ago, but he retired. When I began having problems with back pain recently, I saw Dr. Colon for an evaluation. The APRN did a quick exam then the doctor came in and prescribed 4wks of physical therapy before returning for a follow up. He did not order an MRI, even though it had been 2 1/2 years since my last one. I changed practices and had my records sent to the new doctor. I am very pleased I made the switch.

Dr Colon did a very thorough analysis review of my condition. Surgery was recommended using a relatively new device. After several months recovery and therapy my condition has completely recovered to normal activity. He was excellent at reviewing options and procedures and has great patient - Dr relationship.

Linda , Dr. Colon's receptionist ,was so rude to me on the phone she actually made me cry. Although I have the proper records and referrals, she refused to complete setting up my appointment. I am not a stupid person, I have an advanced degree, but she treated me as if I was two years old and incompetent. Dr. Colon may be an excellent surgeon, but with support staff like that, he needs to clean house and get new help. Shame on him!
