Dr. Tallman has been my surgeon for 20+ years. Beginning with my accident which led to a multiple fracture ankle. Later down the road he has replaced both of my knees. The results are miraculous. I am healed and happy with my recovery. I recommend Dr. Tallman for anyone needing great orthopedic care. Thank You Dr. Tallman

I am extremely fortunate to have been recommended to see Dr. Tallman. He was very easy to talk to and express my concerns. I had a severely damaged foot and after surgery he gave me a new lease on my ability to be mobile again! The surgery went eight hours. I am so grateful to have had him as my surgeon!! My foot was fractured in several places. I am feeling great and back to taking long walks on the beach with my wife! Thanks to a great surgeon. I will be forever grateful to him and his staff and recommend him to all my friends and family!

I ruptured my achilles tendon this past January. Dr. Tallman was highly recommended by a neighbor (who is a family practice doctor at Scripps Encinitas). I called and was able to get an appointment with Dr. Tallman that same day (on a Friday) and scheduled for surgery the following Thursday. I have now had 7 appointments at Dr. Tallman’s office (the initial evaluation, surgery, 2 wk post-op, 4 wk, 6 wk, 10 wk, 16 wk) and have been very impressed with Dr. Tallman and his staff. Everyone is very professional and friendly. I have not yet fully recovered (am 53 yrs old, so the recovery process is slower) but feel that Dr. Tallman did a very good job repairing my ruptured achilles. He also did the stitches in a manner to minimize the scarring which I really appreciate. I learned after the fact that Dr. Tallman is one of the most experienced/well-regarded foot & ankle specialists in the San Diego area. I would definitely go to Dr. Tallman again & recommend him to others

I broke my collar bone in 2 places on a Sunday after an unusual mountain bike crash. My daughter had a good experience with Dr. Tallman, so I called and left a message with his service over the weekend to see if I could get in. Surprisingly, they called me right back and said Dr. Tallman could see me Monday morning. Good thing since I had a couple of bones clicking around in my shoulder. He assessed things and made me feel comfortable a repair would be the best fix. I had surgery 8 days later at the Carlsbad Surgery Center, which was efficient and easy. After 9 weeks of healing and continuous follow-up and x-rays, my bones had all grown in. A couple of weeks of PT, and I'll be done. The experience was excellent. I could tell after waking up from surgery the repair had been successful. Dr. Tallman's office was extremely efficient and communicative. His PA and assistant Brian and Kyle were very knowledgeable and focused. This is an exceptional group of professionals.

Very happy with arthroscopic surgery performed. He is willing to explain procedure, recovery time, likely recovery, etc. Enjoyed the fact that he is not one of these pompous doctors that tell you how wonderful they are and does not carefully explain the procedure and process. Also, very pleased with care and attention given at Carlsbad Surgery Center where procedure was performed.

I liked his unassuming style. He related to my wife ( torn rotator cuff) 1 on 1 with no air of superiority. He discussed her options of treat clearly and allowed her and myself as much time to ask questions as we needed.

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience at Dr Tallmans office. The cast was put on incorrectly and caused me extensive nerve damage. They then charged me for another office visit, xrays and the cost of a new cast. My next visit, I waited hours to see him, then he didn't discuss much about my wrist as he was too busy trying to figure out how to work his new tablet. But he wanted me to come back yet again for another visit and more xrays. They had already sent me down stairs twice and the xrays cost $385 each time. The next Dr I went to did the same xrays and they only charged $76. More pain with the splint and they were not helpful at all. Would NOT recommend this Dr or practice. Seems it's all about the money and not really helping the patient.

I was completely satisfied with his special skill, bedside manner and staff. He successfully repaired a completely severed tendon to my big toe after a two-week old injury. Function is almost restored after only 10 weeks.
