Straight Forward and To the Point
Knowledgeable and Experienced is how I can summarize my encounter with Dr. Li. He listens well and got to the point of what I need for my Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy. His process was in alignment with previous Pain Management Specialist: Kaiser and Dr. Hurato Clinic in Monterey

The Solution Driven Doctor
Dr. Li is very good in dealing with engineers and scientists, offering research and explanation rather than bombast and assertions. He moved quick with diagnostic procedures towards a solution… after years of wasting time with other pain specialists. Dr. Li is not afraid of difficult cases. His care, diagnosis, and referrals dramatically changed my life… because it worked! He is perhaps not cuddly; but if you want a brilliant, direct, aggressive, and effective pain-specialist, go see Dr. Li.

A wonderful experience
Dr. Li has a wonderful bedside manner. He explained what he was doing as in injected my back. He was happy to answer my questions. And he showed me my Xray and explained it to me.

I have been seeing Dr. Li for ablout 5 years, and his patience, willingness to listen, and clear explanations have helped me with (at times) crippling pain. After treatment including an epidural and advice on life changes, plus his ongoing care, I am almost back to full functionality! (Something I though I'd never get back to.) Had it not been for Dr. Li and the team here, I don't know how I would have lived through the pain all those years.

Dr. Li is an experienced pain specialsist , he is also an anesthesioligist , empathic, kind, personable, and amazing with the injections ( cortizone) I have paid cash for his visits wnen i have had out-of-net-work insurance. He, as well as his staff are very understanding of individuals pain needs. If, you are interested in seeing him, he is very much in demand, schedule in advance. Dr Li and this practice follow a strict protocol of ethics and jurisprudence , in other words they are not "pill pushers". Even the Pharmacists recognize and admire this facility.

My experience with this facility is one I will never forget. Each visit, patients get a new doctor who does not have knowledge of prior medical care. After my epidermal injection, my degenerative spine disc disease was significantly worse. The treatment left me in so much pain I couldn't use my upper body and spine without help from neighbors. I wasn't given anything for pain and no medical options were reccomend. All of my prior records were transferred yet information wasn't recorded (9 injections in 4 months). Since I have left the Comprehensive Sport and Spine. I strongly recommend that all new patients be very careful with this facility. And PLEASE check out the online reviews before appointments are made.

For more than 3 years I was treated for chronic pain in my back. I spent thousands of dollars on injections and procedures that did little to relieve my pain. We finally agreed that medical management at what i though was a low dose was the best treatment. December of 2018 i was told that the clinic was no longer prescribing medication for chronic pain. He did help with tapering down and when finally off the medication i went into horrific w/d for over two weeks. i would call and never got a call back from him just the medical assistant who was relaying messages. This is just an example of how cruel and incompetent this for profit pain management company is.

Dr. Li was polite and appeared to be very competent. He completed my spinal epidural in under 10 minutes. After the epidural, I contacted his office due to a complication that led to a hypertensive crisis and while I was told he would call me right back, I did not receive a call for approximately 22 hours. I had gone to the ER in the meantime, and they diagnosed an adverse reaction to the cortisone. Dr. Li could have done that over the phone and saved me a visit to the ER, but was "too busy".

I would NOT recommend Dr. Li to anyone, he left me in pain due to his personal beliefs, he lied to me saying that it was mandatory that I have 2 epidural injections & that I either have the procedure or stay in pain. He damaged my L4 spine which caused the Sciatica Nerve Damage, Myalgia, and Le edema Etiology. I now have to use a cane and have assistance up and down stairs and some curbs. I can't stand for long periods of time. He ruined my dream to attend Culinary school to be a Culinary chef!
