I went to Dr Howard for a UTI. In essence he said he didn’t think I had an infection because the urine specimen that was collected in the office did not indicate an infection and didn’t feel medication would be beneficial. After a few minutes of conversation Dr Howard said if I felt it was necessary he would order a culture. As a patient, I did not think this was an appropriate attitude since I had all the symptoms of a UTI. The culture came indicating I did have a UTI!

I was referred to UCONT for a closer diagnosis. The staff was very accommodating as my test results had not been forwarded. Dr. Howard was knowledgeable and experienced with his diagnosis.

Horrible Doctor - DO NOT GO TO HIM!
I recently had an appt with Dr. Galen Howard. He explained that I needed an abdominal CT scan and a cystoscopy. He said those tests often come back normal and a patient would have to take a low dose antibiotic for a while. I asked him only one question. Then he got up and said, “This visit is over” and walked out of the room. I opened the door and said, “But doctor, I have a few more questions I need to ask you.” He said, “Make another appointment!” It was not a long appt & there was nobody in the lobby when I came in & when I left. I told him to just charge me for an extended visit and he said he didn’t get paid any more for an extended visit and to find another doctor, perhaps one at UT Southwestern. I said, “Dr. Howard, I have been very ill the last 6 weeks with 2 hospitalizations and 3 UTI’s including 40 days of antibiotics. I need help!” He then said, "My next step is to call Security!"OH MY GOSH, why? I have never experienced a doctor that was so rude, arrogant & uncaring.

Dr. Howard was the most uncaring, unprofessional doctor I have ever been to. I would NOT RECOMMEND him to anyone. I have now changed doctors and have much more professional level of care. So sorry I wasted valuable time that I could have been receiving appropriate treatment ! BIG MISTAKE FOR NOT CHANGING AFTER FIRST APPOINTMENT!

Dr Howard and his staff are an amazing team!! 2nd to none! Everyone on his team are very polite, helpful and professional. I am, by nature, would be the classical nuisance patient but man did he and his team deliver at every level. I had a very difficult time dealing with Kidney stones after multiple times but these men and women jumped thru the hoops for me, from receiving calls from me, answering tech questions and more. Thanks Jessica, Christy, Jennifer, Sarah and Doctor Howard!! As you can see, I can not say enough. Thank you, thank you.

Typical Conventional Dr.
Referred to us because of high PSA levels. First visit, Dr. Howard gave a potentially dangerous prescription to mask symptoms. Discovered it was advanced prostate cancer after biopsy that we SELF-paid for. He said there is "no cure" for advanced prostate cancer and recommended 2.5 years of hormone therapy ($3,000 a month self pay) and radiation ($1,000's per treatment). Disconnected to actual solutions available to us. Received additional bill for $524 in the mail after we paid in full at time of each visit. Very discouraging. I write this review to encourage anyone in our position to do your own research. Thankfully, we found a prostate cancer trial that does not involve surgery, radiation or chemotherapy. There ARE cures! Don't let the conventional doctors discourage you.

excellent- he knows what he's doing and spends plenty of time with me. He had to join a larger group due to being overworked by being solo, so the front office change is because of the new group.

Was referred to Dr. Howard by my primary care physician. The appointment and check in process went smoothly. His staff was helpful. The initial consultation, subsequent examinations pointed towards surgery as a solution. Dr. Howard provided answers to my questions and the surgery was an unqualified success. His manner was pleasant. I highly recommend Dr. Howard.

Extremely uncaring, dismissive, and unhelpful. I would NOT recommend seeing Dr. Howard, even if it’s your last option. He has not been able to help my husband. In fact, my husband’s situation has worsened exponentially as a result of following Dr. Howard’s plan of care. Dr. Howard referred my husband to a pain doctor, placing a referral for a specific type of treatment. The treatment only made matters worse, and now Dr. Howard refuses to see my husband. It’s as if Dr. Howard did not truly want to help my husband but rather pawn him off on someone else so that Dr. Howard no longer had to see him to actually try to get to the bottom of the issue here. I will say, my husband’s case is pretty complex. We saw Dr. Howard because of a referral from a friend who had a simple case. If you’re dealing with something simple, he may be able to help. If it’s something complex, stay far, far away.
