Unusually Kind, Empathetic and Present
I have seen Dr. Ukantu twice in Urgent Care at Mt. Sinai Brooklyn Heights. I first met her when I had Covid in Sept 2024 and then in late Jan 2024 with the flu. I was struck by how unusually kind, empathetic and caring she is. An intelligent and fully competent medical professional who prescribed the meds I needed, it was the lasting memory of her empathy that also helped me heal as I thought of this when I was wracked with fever, sweats & chills and nausea. Her unusual kindness and soft energy in a hard world helped me emotionally get through a very dark day!

Patient, thorough, kind and thoughtful
I was dr Gail ukatu’s last patient in urgent care if the day, and she was spot on, and helpful and thorough. Highly recommend. I looked her up to see if I could see her as a regular dr, but her office is not near here nor is taking new patients. Also, highly recommend Olivia the receptionist at my Sinai urgent care, who was helpful and patient through a long day.

Really liked this doctor
Saw Dr Ukatu aka “Dr Gale” at the Mt Sinai UrgentCare on Columbus and 91st and she was great! Smart, thoughtful, good bedside manner, took her time checking medication interactions before she prescribed an antibiotic, and fixed the issue that brought me to urgent care. I’ve never used urgent care before since others I know have had doctors they didn’t like in these facilities, so I was very pleased with my experience.

She's very thorough and patient. Very caring and compassionate with her patients. No complaints whatsoever. Would recommend her especially for anyone with social anxiety. She's very easy to talk to. Treats the whole patient, not just the symptoms.
