Dr. Johnson does not care about his patients. He extended my 72 hour hold and told me it was because he didn’t have enough time to properly assess me. Maybe if you took more than a minute a day to speak to me you would get to evaluate me. Second, on my records he wrote down saying I was a danger to myself, others, and was gravely disabled, which made ZERO sense. I took all my medication and went to all my groups and never expressed anything concerning. He only asked me 4 simple questions and decided i was a threat to myself and others. Nursing staff pretty much admitted that doctors do that when they don’t have enough time to properly assess a patient, sounds to me like he’s a lazy doctor. He deserves to lose his licensing, someone like this shouldn’t be a doctor.

I was under a 72 hour hold and I was only ever able to talk to him my first day at 6am for 1 minute. Afterward he never even bothered to look my way. On my second night, a nurse told me he wanted me to take an antipsychotic medication. I am not psychotic, I have never been described in my life as psychotic, and even the nurse was confused why he wanted me to take it. Should go without saying I refused to take it and I wanted to talk to him about it but of course he was nowhere to be found the following day. Eventually I had a court hearing because he extended my hold, without informing me of course, I was able to get a court hearing. In the hearing, his “notes” were read out and I could not describe my shock. The things he said did not sound like me in any possible way, I honestly thought maybe he mixed me up with someone else. The Arbiter however had the experience to understand that was a generic description doctors fill out without meeting their patients. Ironically his incompetence was the reason my hold was not able to be extended. Afterwards I talked to his nurse about how I did not even want the antipsychotic on my record, and I was told he never filled out any paperwork so I had nothing to worry about. However, when I went to the pharmacy somehow I was still handed the medication. The only good thing I can possibly say has nothing to do with him, the staff was so kind and supportive and are wonderful people. I have so much disdain for Dr. Johnson, I do not understand how someone can go through so much to become a doctor and not show a single ounce of empathy and be more then willing to write slanderous material for his patients just to leave early. I have never meet someone with so little care for their work.

He doesn't care...
Never saw him once while I was in the behavioral health unit for a 72 hour hold. Saw his NP for a minute and was prescribed medication. Upon discharged my prescription was never sent to the pharmacy to pick up. Rude, insensitive, and just completely absent.

Absolutely horrendous practice. I’ve called 6 times in the last month to get my ADHD medication renewed. I get told his office will call me back. They never have. I even drove to Santa Monica from Downey to see them in person; the building is locked and you can’t get in without a code. He is the only psych my insurance covers. I ran out of meds 2 weeks ago, I’m a night shift nurse who works 60 hrs a week. I’m struggling beyond words to keep my mental health in check.
