Purely unprofessional.

Not good and would never use him again. Lacks any bedside manners with patients.

Dr. Mattei explains exactly why your pain is happening and gives you options. He is thorough and follows up frequently. He listens to you and makes sound medical decisions. I’ve been his patient for more than 2 years and will continue with him.

I highly recommend Dr. Mattei. He listens and provides clear and to the point responses. I came to see Dr. Mattei for throbbing pain in my left hip and numbness in left thigh. The surgeons that I had previously seen, reviewed MRI's from two years ago and one taken currently and recommended surgery including rods, plates, screws and an extended recovery period. Dr. Mattei reviewed the same MRI's and recommended an injection of steroids to a specific point on the MRI's. As soon as I was off the table the pain was gone. What more can I say! You see a doctor for diagnosis and treatment and if the result is pain relief you can only be highly satisfied and if you are comfortable with discussing issues and the doctor is receptive to reviewing these issues with you then what more can you do but recommend him highly and without reservations!

This Doctor got angry with me when I told him that I needed to take one (1) extra pill a day for both of my pain medicine as my right hip was hurting more as I needed it replaced two (2) years prior but my Orthopedic Surgeon would not replace my right hip as I had an open Pilonidal Cyst wound and it had to be healed completely before he could do that surgery. I decided to drop this Doctor and he decided to drop me as I got a discharge letter from the practice a week after that appointment. Stay as far away as you can from this Doctor!

After his 'hands-on' evaluation, I walked out of the office in so much pain. My injury was healing, but now I am am bed-ridden again since the appointment. This man is dangerous. He should NOT be allowed to practice medicine. I regret seeing him so much. My pain is so terrible, he erased years of physical therapy in a matter of seconds. Stay away! I wish someone had told me this in advance! He made all my pain come back and now I'm completely disabled again!

Awful experience. Wanted to do a procedure on my neck that was done at OCPBC by a different physician months prior and made my condition severely worse. The complications I have had since getting cervical facet injections done at this office have been debilitating, and Dr. Mattei, himself, had told me & treated me for the reaction I had to these injections the first time around. Yet, he saw no problem with the fact that he kept pushing me to get it done again, the SAME EXACT PROCEDURE AND MEDICATIONS, that I have had a terrible reaction to and his solution to that was “we will just knock you out”. Why would I 1) get something done AGAIN that not only didn’t help me at all, but made things SO MUCH WORSE 2) ever put myself in a situation where I know I have had a bad reaction to medications and put myself in the position to get them again?! And unconscious no less. When I said this to Dr. Mattei he literally acted like a child, told me I am being difficult because I was questioning him and literally walked out of the room and slammed the door. Leaving me to let myself out. Please stay away!

Dr. Mattei & Dr. Shallop are very professional, courteous and have excellent knowledge coupled with outstanding bedside manner! Awesome! OCPBC needs more doctors, and surgeons like them! Recommend them both to anyone. Heather was also super courteous and pleasant. Thank you all ??
