Dr. Gabriel Calzada, MD

Tried to do unnecessary surgery on me. Get a second opinion before you do anything.

I had a bump removed on the back of my head and Dr Calzada was amazing. He explained everything as he was moving through the procedure. I was comfortable the entire time and he was wonderful.

Dr. Calzada was truly a Godsend to my family. My daughter was diagnosed at 24 with malignant melanoma on her neck and had her first surgery performed by a surgeon who was very unfeeling in his remarks and, frankly, left us with little hope for her future. When the cancer returned a month after the first surgery we were referred to Dr. Calzada. Such a difference. Dr Calzada is a wonderful, warm human being who is also very knowledgable and skilled in his specialty. He treated us like family, held our hands, and gave us the hope we needed. That was 8 years ago and my daughter is thriving. Completely cancer free, working, married with a 1 year old son and planning for another baby soon. I can't say enough good things about this man. I thank God for sending him to us.

Dr Calzada , what can I say? I first saw him in 2010, where he was the ONLY MD in the system that listened to me when I said : “something isn’t right “ Labs/ scans were all pretty “normal” and yet I felt something was wrong. He listened to me and helped me get my answers / treatment. I was diagnosed with cancer . He is truly my guardian angel, as though it’s a Daily struggle, I am still here 10 years later ! If it weren’t for his persistency , I would have likely never been diagnosed . I used to run a lot and was physically in tip top shape. At one point, another MD even told me I was tired because I was simply doing too much. When you know, YOU KNOW! Thank you Dr Calzada for your continued support, even from San Diego!

"Amazing doctor" is an understatement! Before having my surgery I had visited many ENT's and Dr. Calzada is definitely the best.

Excellent surgeon. He explained details regarding surgery. He took the extra time with me and allowed me to ask questions and concerns. He is exceptional knowledgeable about his work. I would highly recommend MD to family and friends,Kaiser patients. Recovering post op was the best I have experienced. Minimal pain and fast uncomplicated post op recovery.

Dr. Calzada has a very friendly bedside manner. Because he is small and young looking, he almost appears boyish. However, do not be fooled. He has a very tough job that requires both skill and concentration. I had a chance to observe him just before my operation. The cute boy was gone. Dr. Calzada and his team were going into battle, and I got a great result.
