Lack of Rx knowledge
This doctor prescribed an antibiotic for me that is contraindicated for people with chronic kidney disease. Immediately after completing a 14 day course, I was admitted to my hospital with kidney failure. After a year later, my kidneys have not recovered and I was hopitalized again with end stage kidney failure and dialysis. BEWARE of this guy. His lack of knowledge on prescription limitations has left me with a lifetime of kidney failure. RUN AWAY!!!!! Find another Urologist that is competent.

Professional, personable, is good at what he does. When I was being referred to him, i was told by many that i was in very capable hands. They were right. I would highly recommend Dr. Belanger.

Dr. Belanger has supported me through the pandemic when providers were not taking patients elsewhere. He guided me through steps needed to resolve a long-standing issue and last week I went through 'green light' laser surgery. The procedure was completely painless, the recovery rapid and the results fantastic. Dr. Belanger is reachable, open, and very capable within his specialty. His staff is supportive and friendly, Maine General is a great facility and the experience was worth five stars!
