Dr Gillian performed the surgery on my hiatal hernia about a week ago. It included repair of my diaphragm and placement of a titanium ring around my esophagus. I recently had GERD surgery. VHHI is a very professional, and well run, organization, personified by Dr. Gillian. He is both knowledgeable and personable, putting me at ease about what the surgery would entail, what to expect, and patiently answering my questions, demonstrating both his experience in the field and his professional approach to patient care. I have not had many surgeries...thankfully...but would strongly recommend Dr. Gillian and VHHI should you require GERD or hernia treatment/surgery.

Dr. Gillian performed a triple hernia as well as had to put in a mesh lining that went from my chest to above my groin. It's day 13 and I'm almost back to normal. I have GI issues especially with anesthesia so those persisted but the operation was a success and he was wonderful, informative, patient and kind. Highly recommend him. His office staff are wonderful as well - super customer centric. Never had to wait.

Dr Gillian and his staff provided me excellent service. On Aug 5,2021. I had Hitial Hernia surgery. The Hernia was up in my chest. Dr Gillian was very experienced and Capable of reconstructing my stomach area. My first visit with Dr Gillian he assured me he has done this type of surgery many times. He also came highly recommended from another excellent doctor. I'm happy I went to Dr. Gillian bc my surgery went very well.

He performed a rather complex hiatal-hernia repair and Linx procedure on me at the beginning of July and to say it has improved my quality of life would be an understatement. I came to Dr Gillian with my stomach in constant pain in my stomach. It felt like someone putting my stomach through a blender 24 hours a day. After he finished my surgery I felt relief within a few hours after surgery. He is an amazing doctor & person. God has gifted his hands. He also was very kind to me & he didn’t treat me like I was imagining the pain which past doctors have. He is a very kind person. I would recommend him to everyone. Dr. Gillian is phenomenal. Truly one of the best in the area. I highly recommend Dr. Gillian. Dr. Gillian explained my situation and surgical solutions with a level of frankness and honesty I had not experienced before (I had seen many gastro MDs for over a decade). I had a hiatal hernia repair and LINX implant about 2 years ago. I was extremely well cared for by Dr. Gillian and his staff. They encouraged me to research and ask lots of questions so that I felt comfortable with the surgery. Dr. Gillian profoundly changed my life for the better. Dr. Kevin Gillian is the Best Surgeon in DC area. After years of Suffering from GERD, I went to see him. I chose him after looking at 4 other ones. He is the Best!! He suggested that I would need the Nissen or Linx to fix the Hiatal Hernia. I have opted for Nissen over Linx. He has fixed my Hiatal Hernia with Nissen Funduplication Surgery. After the Nissen Funduplication Surgery, I feel completely Normal and I am back to my active lifestyle. I do not feel any Acid Reflux anymore. Incredible thanks to DR. Gillian. I had hernia surgery and the team did an outstanding job of preparing me for what I should expect, performing the surgery superbly, and following up to make certain that everything had gone as planned. I couldn't be happier with the results of the LINX procedure which he performed. The pleasant nature of the staff, as well as their knowledge, professionalism and helpfulness, made this surgery go of without a hitch. I was back to eating my normal diet within a couple of days. The surgical advice given by Dr. Gillian before surgery was excellent and aided immeasurably in my quick recovery. I had no problems after surgery and greatly appreciate the work of Dr. Gillian and his complete staff.

After 30 years of reflux, I found Dr Gillian who repaired my hiatal hernia and performed a Nissan fundoplication. I am 2 weeks post surgery and feel great. The surgery was easy and the pain was minimal. I did suffer from nausea immediately after surgery caused by the anesthesia but Dr Gillian prescribed a different pain killer which stopped the nausea. I am still on a limited diet of mostly fluids and very soft food. I am not hungry and have no reflux. Great doc and wish I had found him many years ago.

From walking in the door until after appointment, staff and Dr. Gilliam were top notched. Dr. Gilliam and the PA spent time explaining everything, made me feel very comfortable. Follow up was great. Highly recommend Dr. Gilliam.

Love Dr. Gillian His bed side manners are terrific , He's smart , He genuinely cares and so important He listens. When You walk into His office what a pleasure being greeted with a warm hello and smile, his nurse was very pleasant couldn't be sweeter. Janet his other nurse love her too she sets up Your surgery how painless She makes it , if I could give them more than 5 stars I would.
