Terrible attitude
My 84 year old mother was in the hospital, ready to be discharged. Dr. Defour, as the attending physician, walks in with two other residents. He started speaking too softly for my mother , who did not have her hearing aids in (and she is not terribly hard of hearing without them). One of the nice residents gently reminded Dr. Defour that she was hard of hearing. He got irritated and yelled at my mother: 'CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW!!!'. My mother, who can hold her own, spoke loudly right back at him: 'YES I CAN HEAR YOU NOW'!. Dr. Defour walked out, and the residents stayed back to help, not saying anything but clearly embarrassed by his behavior. And on top of it, she had to wait another 8 hours to get discharged, waiting on his signature. The cardiologist signed off on her to leave at 10 am that day. I don't know if that was his passive aggressive way of getting back at her, but regardless he was very unprofessional. Shameful.

Horrible Doctor
The worst doctor I have ever seen. I have had major GI issues for over 17 years. On October 4th I had an EGD by my primary GI doctor that is 40 miles away. My primary GI doctor told me that if ulcers start to bleed to go to the nearest ER, which is what I did. I was given a 2nd EGD (4 days later) and according to that GI at Thomas Hospital and Dr. Defour there was nothing wrong with me and basically told me that I was wasting their time and to get out of the hospital. A case manager came to my room and was so condescending that it was unbelievable. I left Thomas Hospital and drove the 40 miles to my regular doctor and it is a good thing that I did. My ulcers were bleeding and my blood counts were low. By the time I got to my regular GI I was in excoriating pain. They addressed the situation and was both shocked and appalled that I was treated so poorly. DO NOT use this doctor. DO NOT let anyone you care about use this doctor. If I could have left a zero star I would have done so.
