Dr. Frederick Merrill, DO

Horrific wait times. Decent bedside manner, will listen to your concerns and genuinely try to help. This is why he got two stars. But he does NOT refill prescriptions in any sort of timely manner even if you request them well in advance. A family member had labs drawn and after three months of asking were the results were, Dr Merrill just said “it’s fine” and never released the results to the patient portal. It’s negligence on his part. When you call his office to attempt to refill something and say “I’ve been trying for a few weeks” the office staff laughs and goes “yep we already know who your doctor is. He does this all the time.” He additionally put me on a medication that could affect my fertility (I am a woman of child bearing age) and did NOT inform me! My new primary care doctor took me off of it immediately. Do not recommend this primary care physician. The ONLY saving grace is his lovely nurse Heather I believe. She is wonderful.

Dr. Merrill is wonderful. While at my visit, he spent nearly the whole time with me which was about an hour. He listens to my concerns and provided all options I needed to know. Wonderful office and staff.

I saw Dr Merrill for the first time in September 2022. He reviewed my history and sent me for chest X-ray that very day to find out if there was damage from my years of smoking and chemicals I was exposed to years ago in college; no other doctors have done that in over 20 years!

My annual wellness exam went well. I was able to take care of labs and a referral appointment all within the same visit and same practice. Dr. Merrill was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient.

I saw Dr. Merrill for the first time today and was very impressed and felt at ease throughout my appointment. He was kind, professional, he obviously listened to what I said, and definitely cared about my health. He listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions. I never felt rushed like I have at other practices. I will definitely be back next year!

Me and my husband has been going to Dr.Merrill for 10 plus years..We absolutely love him he truly cares about his patients and will not stop until he figures out what’s wrong with you.. With some of the reviews that I have read about the wait for him that’s because he cares for each and everyone of us and takes his time to figure out our problem and that’s what a good Doctor does.. I recommend everyone I can to Dr. Merrill that needs a great Doctor..

Dr. Merrill stays up to date on the latest medicines and technology available for his patients. He has a great faith based practice. I have been a patient of his for many years.

LONG Waiting time. Very poor in time management. If you're planning to see him it's better to free up 2hr from your time.

If you're looking for a primary care physician, I highly highly recommend you go see Dr. Merrill. Recently moved back to the area and needed a primary care doctor here. A friend recommended Dr. Merrill and after my first visit with him, I see why she was so adamant about it. You can tell from the moment you meet him that he genuinely has a heart for his patients and for giving them the very best care possible. All around the staff are so incredibly kind and I cannot recommend them enough.

I have been Dr. Merrill's patient for 10 years. He is the best. He has compassion and patience. He listen to you and gives you time to really talk and tell him how you feel and what is bothering you. He explains your options of treatment and medications he prescribes. When my sister came to live with me 4 years ago, I took her to him. Couldn't have a better physician. His staff follows his lead and is very compassionate and caring.

Dr. Frederick A. Merrill III is a great positive-minded doctor. I did my research when arriving to this area in search of a new primary care physician. He is a Christian, knowledgeable about holistic and traditional medicine which enables him to provide well-rounded and well-informed medical advice and treatment options. He is honest, compassionate, skilled and want to prolong life and the quality in which you live it. His office is one of the better AU offices. Their staff is polite, professional, positive attitudes and efficient. I highly recommend him as your doctor. Thanks Dr. Merrill!

Long waits in getting prescription refills called in to pharmacist. His time management often leaves his patients with as much as 2 hours.

Dr. Merrill is thorough and takes time to talk to you about your medical issues. He crosses every T and dots every i. He asks questions and he listens to the answers. I highly recommend him. Be prepared to wait. Take a book or magazine and enjoy your free time while you wait. He is worth it.

Dr. Merrill is a great physician that goes the extra mile. My husband came in for a frequent headaches, most physicians would have chalked it up to stress related due to his job, however, Dr. Merrill sent him for an MRI where a tumor was discovered.

I believe Dr. Merrill genuinely cares about me as a patient. He spent PLENTY time with me yo assess my medical need. Very profession and courteous.

This was my first visit to the office and I was very pleased. Professional staff and nurses. Dr. Merrill was very good and thorough as well with explaining everything. Glad I chose this office.

I had a great initial visit with Dr. Merrill. His staff was extremely friendly and efficient, and during my consultation, Dr. Merrill was very thorough and took time to fully discuss my medical history. I was very impressed and am very confident in using him as my Primary Care Physician.

I would be careful before going there. Make sure you ask them what is required before you go to your appointment. They do not care about your time or life.
