Left practice, called twice to speak with him and was told to go to the emergency room for a non emergency and the second time told to go to another office in North Haven, again not an emergency. Why have a primary care doctor if he is sending you elsewhere. Ordered blood tests which he never followed up on with the results. He had said that he would see me in November of 2022. When I checked it was November of of 2023. I had an MRI on my back which I initiated with an Ortho group and the MRI showed an issue with my prostate and was told to see a Urologist immediately which again I had to do myself. Experience not what I had in mind when I came to this practice. Why order blood work if there is no follow up. I could see that the PSA numbers had spiked. Not used to being dismissed when I wanted to speak with my doctor.

I spoke with Dr Lawrence Saturday morning as I was not feeling well and was exposed to Covid earlier in the week. I found him to be arrogant, condescending, and seemingly interested in nothing more than ending the call as quickly as possible. His concern seemed to be more about how busy he was and not on the patient care perspective, which should be the focus of his attention. I don’t really care how busy he was. When he is talking to me, assessing my needs, I should be the priority. He needs a tutorial in bedside manners. He was not helpful at all and left me frustrated and angry which was not what I expected or needed from him when I called.

Dr. Lawrence is one of the best Internal Medicine doctors I’ve had! He treats his patients with respect, humor, and humanity. He never fails to explain fully what’s going on, the ‘why’ of his diagnosis and of the possible treatments. He’s just a really good, reliable doc—5 stars!
