Dr. Franklin Richards, MD

When I decided to get a mini facelift, I searched for many many months. I am someone that keloids real easy and I wanted to make sure I found a doctor who had a precise stitching technique to avoid visible scars. Then I found Dr. Richards in Bethesda MD. He had so many positive reviews and had completed this surgery with amazing success, I quickly scheduled an appointment. I waited a month to get a consult (he is THAT popular) and I was patient because I wanted the best. I even traveled over an hour to see him because it shouldn’t matter how far you go to ensure excellent results. Dr. Richards explained the procedure and the recovery process. The day of surgery was a breeze. All Covid protocols were followed and I went home with my face bandaged. It has been a year since my procedure and I do not have a visible scar! Amazing! My girlfriend also had a mini facelift but she decided to go to a doctor in our neighborhood and her scars are so visible it’s sad.

I had been researching plastic surgeons to perform upper/lower blepharoplasty for awhile when I found Dr. Richards. I flew to DC to meet with him and immediately knew that he was the surgeon for me. He has a great bedside manner, he was engaging, informative and immediately felt at ease. My results are nothing short of amazing. The staff are amazing as well. The process from scheduling my consult through my follow up appointments was seamless. Joanne the office manager was fantastic. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Richards.

So I unfortunately had a very bad botched tummy tuck done in Korea in February 2021. Feeling terrible and needing help , I contacted Dr. Richards' office. As soon as I had the consult I knew he was the doctor for me. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Joanne the surgical coordinator for Dr. Richards answered my many questions along the way and went above and beyond to help me with information. - I was still in Korea and had to wait 6 months to have my surgery. I finally had my surgery December 2nd and I feel and look so much better. Dr. Richards , the nurses, and all the other staff have been so reassuring and helpful and Dr. Richards did an amazing job especially considering the mess he had to work with. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Richards to anyone and will go there in the future should I need to do anything further. SHOW LESS

Dr Richards performed a tummy tuck, liposuction of arms / flanks and breast enlargement with crescent mastoplexy. I was very impressed with his ability to explain each procedure and how some were inter-related. His explanations were technical yet clear. I opted for the less invasive liposuction of the arms vs a lift, based on his guidance (when most doctors on RealSelf said hands down I should have a lift). He was right, in my particular case, liposuction worked just fine. This conservative approach was the right thing for me. All of hIs suggestions were spot on. He has a quiet confidence and he earned my trust - trust is key here. I am thrilled with my results. His staff is exceptionally talented and helpful. Jennifer and Tiffany ensured I was informed, responded immediately to any questions and are both a wealth of knowledge/expertise and experience. This surgery was a huge step for me as it should be for anyone. I did my homework and chose wisely - so glad I did!

Dr. Richards is a great surgeon. I would recommend him to anyone. He answered all my questions. He is very compassionate and he did a great job on my face.

Dr. Richards has been an absolute God send! He has been able to transform my body after childbirth, from where I was feeling down and depressed to feeling confident again! He is incredibly knowledgeable, informative, kind, and a true artist at his work. Recovery was intense, but more than worth it! I would highly recommend Dr. Richards to anyone interested in a Mommy Makeover, breast augmentation, or liposuction (even though I know he can improve anything that you may need to fix). My husband and I are beyond pleased with my results!

Dr. Richard’s is fantastic. I have never felt so at ease and well taken care of. Even when I was anxious post op and called him while he was on vacation (oops!) he was so attentive and reassuring. Dr. Richards is a class act all around. A very talented, thorough and compassionate surgeon that takes his time with patients and has excellent bedside manner. He did my breast augmentation 8 years ago and I would highly recommend him to others that are looking for a wonderful plastic surgeon in the Northern VA/ MD area. From consult to surgery, the friendly staff and Dr. Richards are amazing. I had breast augmentation done about 12 years ago and they were awful. My pocket had stretched behind the muscle and was causing extreme discomfort among looking droopy and rippled. I became extremely self-conscious. My niece referred me to Dr.Richards as she was pleased with her experience. From consult to surgery, the friendly staff and Dr. Richards are amazing. Dr. Richards removed my old implants, fixed the stretched pocket and replaced them with new implants. I could not be more satisfied, especially seeing the before and after. Dr. Richards provided such wonderful care and advice on my liposuction surgery. I went to four doctors to receive consults and chose Dr. Richards. He recommended liposuction versus a tummy tuck after hearing what I wanted to achieve with this surgery. I am so pleased with the results and happy that I went with this less invasive surgery! I love the results and can fit into my pants again after the stomach, flank, and inner thigh lipo. I look and feel great!

Staff was very professional and I was very happy with Dr. Richards and with the results. Had a mini lift and upper and lower eyelids at the same time.

Dr. Richards performed two procedures. He reduced the puffiness from under my eyes and did a fraxel resurfacing around my mouth and chin. I am very satisfied with the results. Dr. Richards was very honest about what my expectations should be based on my age and skin tone. I think I look much better.

Never had a flat stomach not until Dr. Richards took care of the excess skin that was left after my two pregnancies . Opted for a tummy tuck and liposuction, couldn't be more happier for my results. i look thin, flat and in shape! i have gained the confidence to better care of myself. I am 42 years old female with 2 kids, used to work out like crazy to tighten my stomach but nothing helped, no matter what i tried. I Can't Thank Dr. Richards enough for the amazing job,he is absolutely the best.
