He was very attentive, explained everything.He even showed me the procedure that he did with my fusion

I can tell you by experience that if you are experiencing back or leg pain, Dr. Hayward is the man. I had so much back pain and my legs were literally falling out from under me. I scheduled a visit with him and he did some testing and seen that what was going on with me was way more than the others who were insurance doctors but what a blessing to find such a surgeon that truly loves giving people their life back. I could barely walk and he took the interest and explained to me thoroughly what he felt that needed to be done and he did the surgery on my back and here I am 10 years later and doing great. Very highly recommend Dr. Hayward. I know he was a blessing to me when he was here in Cape Girardeau Missouri. Glad to hear that he is still helping people and giving them back their life . Dr. Hayward is a great neurosurgeon! He listens well and explains things thoroughly and understandably. Very personable! I am so appreciative of his surgical skills! I have suffered with severe lower back pain and sciatic pain down both legs for nearly two years. The problem is fixed!! During surgery I had an unexpected high level of pain and discomfort and Dr. Hayward went to extra effort to electronically test for nerve damage while I was “on the table” and fortunately none was found. My nerves had just been irritated for too long. All the pain from prior to surgery is gone. I am two months post surgery and still healing and building my atrophied back muscles. Dr. Hayward is also a recipient of back surgery for pain and he “gets it!” I highly recommend him!

I went to see Dr Hayward last year and he knew what was going on with me after talking to me. After doing a MRI, he was right. After my back surgery, the leg pain is completely gone. He is a very good doctor.

Had my last visit with Dr Hayward 8/1/2022. He explained all that was going on with my lumbar back region causing pain. He referred me to Dr Hansen for a pain injection. Surprisingly it greatly reduced the discomfort I had been suffering. So grateful to have had the experience of his being my doctor & helping me make the decision against surgery at this time. I wish to thank him for his time and consideration. Thankful to have met him and his being my doctor.

Dr. Hayward is very caring and respectful. He spends time and is very concerned and eager to help you. His neurosurgeon knowledge is wonderful. We would highly recommend him. He's the best!!

Dr. Hayward got me back up a treasure hunting.

In the handful of visits plus my surgery with Dr. Hayward II I am beyond impressed and blown away. Not only did I have ZERO pain from surgery itself but I have also had no pain afterward in the last six weeks post op. I am so thankful for this surgeon and this surgery. He’s not only a great doctor, but a great person-he speaks to the patient as a human. That’s a huge plus in my experience. I’ve had more than four surgeries in my life so I’m speaking from a bit of experience here when I say he’s the real deal. You want him.

I have had 2 spinal fusions with Dr. Hayward and both were flawless. Him and his staff pinpointed the problem area first and then fixed the problem area only. They were very patient oriented, listening to my every complaint very carefully and doing everything they could to make me comfortable and pain free. I would refer Dr. Hayward to anyone with spinal issues to have them taken care of. Him and his staff are very caring and always put the patient and their needs first.

Excellent doctor

Dr. Hayward performed brain surgery on me after my fall and I had a brain bleed. I have had no problems since the surgery and highly recommend anyone who needs brain surgery to see Dr. Hayward. Thanks for giving me a second chance at life and time with my family.

He is absolutely the best neurosurgeon I've had the privilege of meeting and he operated on me in 2015 and did an excellent job !!!! That's why I came back to him in 2020...completely different back issue. I would refer everyone to him. Great Dr. and person.

He’s not only a great doctor, he is a great person. On my very first visit he made it clear I was not just another number on a list of patients, he evaluated my back problem and took the extra effort going above and beyond to make sure I were taken care of, making sure I didn’t have to wait to get my pain under control as well as fixing my problem, squeezed me into his tight schedule making sure I didn’t have to wait until things escalated or until it was more convenient for him. He made sure I felt as the most important patient and that is something hard to find nowadays. He is loyal to the cause, helping people. He listened and cared.
