Dr. Frank Alvarez III, MD

I know he is retired but I feel the need to give him a review. Dr. Alvarez is the greatest GP I have ever had in my 46 years. Doctors in his specialty are extremely overworked, but I had no idea from the way he treated me. Every time I saw him, he made me feel as if I was the only patient he had that day and I am not exaggerating. Always willing to listen patiently to anything I said no matter how trivial or irrelevant, and always explained things clearly and concisely. Always 100% honest about the things I was doing wrong with my health and the consequences, but at the same time never once came off as judgmental or demeaning in any way. I was very disappointed when I learned he retired, but he deserves as long a retirement as possible. My new GP is pretty damn good, too, no complaints there at all. But I feel that Dr. Alvarez should be used as a model in textbooks for all GPs to follow.

Dr. Alvarez is a very caring doctor, of wanting to know how his patients are doing, he listens & pays attention to you when you come in for your visits, he is an A+, he has been my doctor since 1992.

He was my primary care doctor for 15+ years. He is thorough, not hesitant to contact a specialist iin situations where he needs them, and tried to find the "cure" and not just medicate me to alleviate symptoms. Outstanding doctor.

Dr. Alverez is a Physician that I have known almost 40 years. He is extremely skilled in medicine but also in both communicating and conveying a sense of calm confidence that he will get you well. Always a gentleman and a great family man. He also treats my wife whose blood pressure will be sky high when checked by a nurse but will normalize after Dr. Alverez comes in and takes 20 seconds to assure and calm her. My confidence in his skill is a 10 out of 10.

Dr. Alvarez is thorough & kind. He has the best bedside manner- & that’s something that medical school cannot teach. It’s indicative of the character of a person, which is separate from their medical training. He also is a skilled physician who can be trusted. Unfortunately, that reality doesn’t apply to everyone who somehow acquired a license to practice. I’d recommend Dr. Alvarez because he’s one of the best in his profession. He’s knowledgeable, & able to communicate with patients while translating medical terminology to layman’s language. He’s just an all around great doctor.

Dr. Alvarez was recommended to me by my boss at my first “real” job out of college. And he’s been my primary care physician for the last 25 + years. I’ve come to trust him with any issues I’ve had thru the years and he has NEVER disappointed me nor have I ever questioned any diagnosis or treatment he’s recommended during that time. I was sad to hear he is retiring in the summer of 2021 for selfish reasons but also believe he truly deserves a long and fulfilling retirement. He’ll never know how much he’s meant to me and my family. I wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

My visit with Dr. Alvarez was great. He always listens to my needs and answers questions. Being a diabetic and having high blood pressure he is always concerned about my A1c and blood pressure level. I've been going to him for over 20+ years.
