Dr. Foram Desai, MD

Unpleased annual physical appointment. No recommend specially if you are part of the LGBTQ community. I rather find a better new primary doctor. She was too busy to address medical issues.

- Roomed, then waited over 1 hr to be seen- Obviously hadn't reviewed chart- Questioned relentlessly about having ADHD & my need for medication. I explained i have been seeing a psychiatrist twice a year to manage my treatment. She never once asked about any symptoms or challenges with my medication or treatment but told me that 'she would require me to see her every 4 months to make sure I am not giving the medication to anyone else or selling it'. - Questioned me about a previous medication 'cotrim'. She asked me 'what is this medication?'. She then accused me of it being a weight loss drug (I am 120 pounds). I told her I have never taken a weight loss drug and she said 'are you sure, it sounds like a weight loss drug'. She then googled it to find, as i had told her, it was an antibiotic that i had an allergic reaction to.- She did not ask if I was sexually active, she asked 'are you in a relationship' - She did not give me a skin, breast, or pelvic exam as 'she doesn't do that'

She is beyond amazing. She takes her time with her patients and hears every concern. She does not rush the process or make rational decisions. I trust her hands down and have recommended her to everyone in need of a great trusted MD.

The only slight complaint I have is how long you have to wait in the waiting room. On the bright side, I believe that's because she takes her time w/ her patients. Otherwise, she's AWESOME! Kind, understanding & patient.

she’s an excellent doctor, gives me follow up on my treatment , and the medicine she gives me always does me good. Thank you Dr. Desai!!

I saw Dr. Desai and she seemed competent enough, however, I had a huge problem with her office staff at Riverside Medical Group in Jersey City. The medical people don't seem to communicate with one another. Dr. Desai did not follow through on filling my routine prescriptions (blood pressure meds, statins) because she claimed I hadn't been seen in the office, even though I had seen her assistant, Dr. Sorkin. Dr. Desai didn't even know I had hip replacement surgery and she was my primary provider! I had to have several wellness visits to Riverside Medical Group just to be cleared for the surgery and she didn't even know this! I do not recommend her or Riverside Medical Group under any circumstances. This is not a quality medical practice.

. I was told I had to wait another day so she could approve the request for the medication I emphasized she give me. Long story short, I am still waiting and looking at other reviews, this is not her first time being unprofessional, and disrespectful to everyone’s time and CORRECT medication. AVOID THIS DOCTOR AT ALL COSTS!

We thought about legal action but decided to let it go. Our experience with Dr. Desai has been the most horrific experience we’ve ever had with a doctor. What was discussed in appointments with regard to medication was changed in actual written prescriptions. When I called requesting more information, weekly, for a month, I was ignored. This repeatedly happened in 3 separate visits. And the call to Riverside Medical is a call center not the doctors office. So that’s unpleasant too.

My mother has been seeing this doctor and she couldn't be more pleased! She tell me how great Dr. Desai is and how throughout she is. Great doctor would recommend.
