Dr. Felecia Jinwala, MD

She is an amazing surgeon who is knowledgeable, kind and caring. I felt at ease at our visit, able to explain things in a matter I could understand and her staff was great. I am not sure why she has so many bad reviews as we had such a great experience.

In my previous review, I stated hat Dr Jinwala is a general surgeon. That is incorrect. Apparently she is a vascular surgeon which makes her misdiagnosis on me even worse.

I was sent to Dr Jinwala by a referral. I would never recommend her to anyone. Firstly, I was told she was a vascular surgeon, which she is not. She is a general surgeon. Secondly, she obviously cannot and or did not read my MRI results. She did an ultrasound with the right ntention of telling my doctor he exact size and location of my aneurysm, but performed the ultrasound in the wrong area. Actually, according to the MRI, it couldn’t have been located by an ultrasound because of its location. When I went in to see her for the results of that ultrasound, she informed me that there was no aneurysm! She couldn’t explain to me why it showed up on the MRI and not the ultrasound. She was very short with me and very dismissive. Thankfully, my PCP didn’t believe her and sent me to a specialist in Scarborough, and I had an angiogram that showed the size and location of the aneurysm that is in fact there!

I have had my share of rude providers over the years but this one was NEXT level. I have learned to just ignore the attitude if it comes with genius or expertise, but this was NOT the case. This provider was blatantly rude, critical, disrespectful, dismissive of everything I said, shook her head, rolled her eyes, sharply exhaled when I asked questions and proceeded to attempt to miseducate me on basic human physiology. I quietly just listened and agreed with her, as I was genuinely afraid she was going to hit me with her clipboard. I left the visit and cried in my car while looking up reviews to see if perhaps it was me. Quickly, I found multiple sites of similar but worse experiences. I wish I had been able to record this interaction. Clearly, she has been reported before yet continues to practice. At least I know now that I will find someone else to actually do the surgery that I need.Please do not bring your loved ones here. Still in disbelief.

She was given a referral to see me, looked over my chart before setting an appointment had me travel an hour. Then told me there was nothing she could do for me. It was a complete waste of time and money. She was rude and seemed bothered by the questions we were asking. It takes a lot for me to leave a review for a doctor unless they are wonderful, but she is just plain awful. She likes to draw on the white board and shows no empathy for what you are going through. It was a year ago I had an ultrasound and my arteries were 70% blocked you'd think she'd at least have another one done. If you want a Doctor with any sort of feeling ....I recommend you not see her.

Dr Jinwala misled patient and stated that there were no options to treat patient due her assessment that patient was too high risk even for non-invasive interventions to treat blockage in arteries. She made no follow up recommendations and sent the patient home with no treatment plan even though the patient was highly symptomatic. Patient pursued a second opinion with another MD specializing in Vascular surgery who completely disagreed with Dr Jinwala’s assessment and said patient was a good candidate for non-invasive surgery and risk was low. Patient had non-invasive surgery with the other surgeon who inserted stents and patient’s problem has been 100 % resolved and patient is thriving. Thank goodness patient pursued the second opinion.
