If you are looking for a "doctor" who "specializes in neurology", and want someone who will laugh in your face when you share your medical concerns, this is the one for you! Bed side manner is non existent. Hardly made eye contact. Total disregard for the patients concerns. Suggested taking more meds instead of addressing the problem.

My worst experience with a doctor in all my life was with Dr. Chen. I went complaining of my hands falling to sleep, pain in my back and shoulders and neck. He had me do some type of calisthenics with my fingers (i.e. touching my nose and such)...then told me I needed to lose weight. As if I don't see myself in the mirror each day. I then asked if he could run some tests to check for degenerative discs...he refused. He didn't advise me on my pain issue at all, but later sent me a bill for over $200++. Please do not visit this so called doctor.

I wish I had read his reviews before making my appointment. Dr Chen is arrogant and rude. He didn’t look at me when speaking. I asked him about treatment and his answer was “ no cure for that , nothing can be done.”

Years ago I went to this doctor in pain. He did a series of tests and said that my large nerves were ok. I asked him did the have tests for small fiber neuropathy he LIED and said they don't(I researched and it said it was possible). He wrote me a prescription for duloxetine. Which was basically because I was crying from the pain. Now I have permanent numbness in my toes. My new neurologist is going through the steps of testing me for small fiber. He is going to do a biopsy which is something dr. Chen stated was impossible to do. I wish I could give him 0 stars because I've been dealing with this pain for all of these years because he refused to do further testing on me. Update: My present nuerologist has diagnosed me with small fiber neuropathy based on the results from my biopsy that he performed. If Dr Chen would have tested me, I wouldn't have endured all of this pain for all of these years.

On 4/4/19, I visited Dr. Chen as a first time patient after waiting two months for the appointment. Upon entering the room, Dr. Chen asked "What are you here for?" I replied tremors, numbness, blurry vision, buzzing near my spine and a feeling of something moving on my scalp. He responded, that none of those are neurological symptoms and I should probably see a psychiatrist. I have never been so disappointed in the lack of care or empathy from a physician. I will be filing a formal complaint.

Dr. Chen review records which was done in 2012. He was informed of my concerns with fainting and trimmers in. I explained how I was jumping in my sleep. His diagnoses for my symptoms was anxiety. I was presented with trimmers and he come up with anxiety. I was told that I had vasovagal syncope. His nurse and assistant was very rude. This was not a good experience.

Dr. Chen was very arrogant and dismissive. I was very specific in asking for an MRI with contrast on my head & spine. He refused to give me the test, said I didn't need it, and walked out of the room. Poor "bedside manner" and does not like to be questioned. It was obvious by my physical that I had a slow reaction to his questions & "tests", but he insisted that I was fine and told me to see a psychiatrist.

He walked in the room having already decided what was wrong with me, didn't care about my symptoms, was just generally rude. I left not knowing anymore about my condition than when I entered. I would give zero stars if an option, please try and find someone else to see.

I was Dr. Chen's patient for 3 1/2 months. I had a CT scan in the ER after a car accident, prior to seeing Dr. Chen. It was sent with my records and showed a colloid cyst in my brain, which he never addressed. Even though I constantly complained of headaches, blurred vision, muscle weakness and stiffness, he never sent me for an MRI. Every visit resulted in more physical therapy and pain meds. After changing drs, an MRI showed the cyst and 2 herniated discs in my neck. I had brain surgery.
