Dr. Fazal Ali, MD

This is the worst office staff I have ever encountered. This is two years in a row that they call a day before your appointment, insist that you get to the lab by 5:00, and then the lab says they did not receive an order for lab work. When you call them, it goes straight to voice mail with a promise to call back in 24 hours. This time, they tried to tell me they have called three different times, and I have one voice mail on my phone - they have simply not called three times, and they screwed up on the lab order AGAIN. Pure nonsense, and I'm switching doctors.

My family member had to wait months for an appointment with Dr Ali after a referral from their PCP. The DAY OF the appointment, his staff called and said her appointment was cancelled because SHE failed to get the necessary lab done before the appointment. She had no idea that she needed more lab work until that call. The office sent her to DLO for lab work. No order was sent by Dr Ali for the lab to be drawn. Calls to Dr Ali were not returned (their phone tree says that calls will be responded to within 24 hours, but that is not true) She went to DLO the next day and again no lab orders were received from Dr Ali. Mind you, it’s over 100 outside and she’s 92 years old. We kept her PCP apprised of the situation. The PCP’s office said on the second day that they will refer her to another provider and apologized for the abysmal treatment by Dr Ali and his office staff.

After a year of doctor and hospital visits related to open heart surgery, this is the only doctor's office that thoroughly disappointed. The office is poorly run, with confusing instructions on what steps the patient is responsible for taking, resulting in rescheduling appointments that were hard to get in the first place. They were also unresponsive to requests to share test results with primary care doctor. Several attempts were made before request was honored. One staff member was especially rude and cold. She all but called us liars. This happened on more than one occasion. We are looking for another nephrologist even though Dr. Ali is highly rated.
