Negatives: Waited for 2 hours, no concrete results
We waited for 2 hours to be seen for 10 minutes. Didn't get our questions answered and just walked out because he had to see the next patient. They have a great system of getting the masses of people in, spending as little time with them, charging, and making another appointment with a promise that we will do a more thorough exam next time.

Please proceed with caution
Happy to hear about all the happy endings patients had with their cataract procedures. Sadly, my experience did not come out as well. After the surgery, I still had halos, starbursts, glare’ and blurriness. It was actually worse than before the surgery! Dr Ishtar inferred that the reason for the poor outcome was that I had a cornea condition (Fuchs Dystrophy). The only cure is a cornea transplant, so I was extremely concerned. I did get a 2nd and a 3rd opinion. Net result, I do not have Fuchs. My corneas are healthy. He may have offered the diagnosis in good faith, but two other doctors assured me that there was no trace of Fuchs. Trust was broken at that point, so had the second eye done at a different practice. The outcome and the overall experience were perfect. No comparison. There is very little you can do if your cataract procedure fails other than live with it. So please proceed carefully. Good luck.

Great doctor. We are blessed to have him and staf
Great. I had cataracts removed; they had already grown way too big so I could only see about 6 ft in front of me. After surgery I could see distance better than ever in my life; it was super cool. They explained everything fine, follow ups w associate dr were good, techs good. No problems. Friendly staff. Dr works hard, I saw him at the end of the day and I would say he definitely earns his money. Now I only need reading glasses I can get at Dollar Tree. In the original Bible, Old Testament, Sirach says obey doctors as they are a gift from God. This was truly a miracle operation. Thanks Doc. Thanks y'all. xx

PLEASE READ THIS before you schedule an appointment with this clinic. Don't be fooled by some high-rated reviews, I am pretty sure they manipulate their rating somehow. I visited this this doctor and his clinic (Eye Clinic of Austin) for a routine eye exam which my insurance covers in full. But after my visit they charged me for $$$, when I asked what this is for, they said it is your co-pay. I called my insurance company and found out that they never filed the claim with my insurance company. Now, I have to spend so much time to get my money back. Save yourself some trouble and find another clinic. The only thing they care is to take as much money from you as they can.

The staff at Eye Clinic of Austin is extremely courteous, and each doctor there is passionate and professional. Dr. Irshad is one of the best in his field. Wait times are low, and glasses are both stylish and affordable. I would not go anywhere else in Austin for my ophthalmology needs.

It all started with the flu that eventually turned into an extremely painful infection in both of my eyes. I could hardly open them and couldn’t sleep because of the amount of pain I was in. I had heard of Dr. Irshad and knew he came highly recommended. I reached out to him to see how quickly he could see me. Understanding the amount of pain I was in, his office went out of their way to find a spot for me the very next day. Dr. Irshad made time in his busy schedule to see me, showing compassion and care for my well-being throughout the entire process. He gave me his cell phone number and checked in on me throughout the next few days, making sure that the infection was progressing the way he thought it should be with the medication he had prescribed. I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Irshad and his team. When it comes to your eyes, you really want to feel like you can trust the people taking care of you. Dr. Irshad is one of those people. Austin is lucky to have him!

if there was an option of zero star for this doctor, I would've given him that. most unprofessional doctor I have come across in my life. he is very rude, not friendly. wouldn't answer your concerns, just rush through the consultation like he's extremely busy. only cares for his money not the patients satisfaction. his surgical skills are poor, my left eye is totally ruined post-op. I'm still SUFFERING. don't waste your time and money by going to him like I did. very disappointed.
