2018 - Dr. Silverstein asked for our feedback on whether or not we would prefer his resident to be with him during our daughter's eye procedure. He understood our hesitation and explained that his resident would only be involved at his discretion. He is an amazing doctor and he is also training the doctors of the future.

My child was referred to Dr. Silverstein by a VCU childrens' neurologist to see whether headaches were being caused by a vision problem. 95% of our visit was spent with the resident (who was very professional and helpful). Dr. Silverstein was only present for maybe 2 minutes at most. He is now demanding a $600 payment for his "services". The child in question was 4, and no part of the visit was different from what a much cheaper visit to a Walmart eye doctor would entail. Pathetic.

June/ July 2018 - My husband and I are so happy with the care of our daughter under Dr. Silverstein. We met with him concerning my daughter's molluscum on her eyelid. He performed a thorough exam and took his time with us to explain in detail each minute step of the removal process, before, during and after. His team at VCU was extremely organized and proactive about scheduling and promoted the well-being of my daughter through this entire process. He was extremely careful and kind.

Though a pediatric ophthalmologist, Dr. Silverstein treats adult strabismus. I have had strabismus since childhood and figured, at age 64, I would get it treated as my 'floating eye' had appeared to gotten worse with age. Dr. Silverstein could not have been nicer to work with! His surgery resulted in a pain free recovery and eyes that work together. I could not be more pleased.
