Would not recommend for pelvic pain
I have had pelvic pain for more than 5 years. Saw Dr. Mazur for chronic pelvic pain for about 9 months, 4 sessions total. She did not make any attempt to look at possible causes for my pain and just kept recommending I continue physical therapy, even though that has not helped me for 5 years. At one point she felt one of my extremely tight muscles and commented how 'impressive' how hard it felt and laughed it off. It may seem like a harmless joke but it's not funny when your pain is so excruciating it's the sole reason you are not able to have intimacy with your spouse and have the possibility of children. Pain can have musculoskeletal and nerve related causes that can be easily checked or crossed off. She even told me that this pain 'just goes away on its own' when I asked if there was anything else she could do apart from keep recommending physical therapy. I would not recommend Dr. Mazur for chronic pelvic pain.

My endometriosis and PCOS have been causing increased problems for me in past years. I was referred to Dr Mazur in the pelvic pain clinic. She told me that I didn't have either endometriosis or PCOS, but that all of my pain was due to my pelvic floor being too tight and I was directed to do pelvic floor physical therapy and vaginal dilation. Neither of these treatments helped me at all. I continue to experience elevated levels of pain because of other doctors at the University of Iowa hospital who refuse to give me correct treatment.

I have had pelvic pain for 3 years since having my daughter. Dr Mazur is an amazing provider. She made a change in medication so I can better function and really helped me understand what happened to my body . I truly feel like she cares about how I am doing in my day to day life. I would highly recommend her to anyone
