Dr. Erwin Winkel, MD

Dr. Winkel misdiagnosed my brother with prostatitis, and was told he would be fine to travel to Michigan for vacation. Three trips to the emergency room later and three stays in the hospital. A CT scan revealed that my brother had a mass on or near his prostate. My brother‘s pain was so bad that they flew home and left their vehicle in Michigan. On the way to the airport, my brother contacted Dr. Winkel’s office and was informed by his nurse that this was not their problem. He has just been diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer. My brother is 64 years old. If I could give him zero stars, I would.

Patients… Dr. Winkle and his amazing staff should get 10 stars. They are fantastic about returning calls. They go above and beyond what is expected of them. Dr. Winkle could not be a better or more caring Urologist. I can always count on his staff they are amazing. They have been with him for many years. That really says something about the doctor as well. He is takes good care of my husband.

I've been a patient of Dr. Winkel's for several years. He is extremely knowledgeable, thorough and honest. He has performed two procedures on me related to kidney stones. The most recent one came as a bit of an emergency (blockage in my lone kidney) and he had me in the OR in no time at all. His bedside manner is top notch and he's always good for a laugh to ease your nerves. The hospital nurses told me he's the best - no doubt about it!

I was a patient of Dr. Winkel for close to six years. His knowledge of Urology and assertiveness found signs of cancer in me. However scheduling the next steps proved impossible. Don't know if I upset somebody but after trying several times I moved on. Grateful that he found the problem, very grateful that it was early and contained. His team in this new group are not responsive.
