Dr. Erin Fankhanel, MD

I had the misfortune of having Dr. Fankankel fill in for my normal provider. This provider did not listen to me at all. She was arrogant, rude, and condescending. While checking my ears, she said, the only thing I see is wax. Really? I left there with a misdiagnosis, zero course of action, or true treatment. I was told to “come back” if things worsen despite my sharing my health history with the same issue. This “provider” does not provide care.

I was worried about physicians here when we moved back home after being gone 35 years. I wanted to see the male physician who had transferred from Bluefield as he had great references, but he wasn't taking patients, so they gave me Dr Fankhanel, #3 in 18 months here. On first visit, I took a complete H&P, x-rays, labs,you name it. The nurse was very nice and I told her they can keep the paperwork. The doctor came in and briefly looked over it and I told her they could keep it and she said great. She asked about what is due and I told her. I go to leave and they hand me back the paperwork!! So I get home and Walmart calls saying meds are ready. She called in the list of meds I CANNOT TAKE and are listed so on the paperwork. My big issue is m foot a surgeon screwed up so she tells me she will get a referral. The office called me saying they are the best in the state and she will call me within 3 days to see

I've been going to her for a few months now and she hasn't done anything but renew my prescriptions. I've asked her to do some specific tests to find out what is causing my condition but she refuses to take the responsibility. The only thing she wants to do is get me on more medication. She has no interest in actually helping me find a path to recovery. She prescribed one medication that actually helped me and then refused to give it to me again because it's supposed to be hard on the liver and kidneys. Then less than five minutes later she told me that my liver and kidney enzymes were perfect. I asked her to order a functional gut microbiome test which she refused to do and then had to explain to her how it was done. What are they teaching these people? I do not trust this doctors judgment at all. I won't be going there again. For once it would be nice to find a doctor who actually cares and doesn't ignore my input about my own health. Compassion is definitely not her strong suit.
