Disappointed and discouraged after visit
My wife has been suffering from severe stomach pain, nausea and extreme fluctuation in bowel regularity. As a result, she has been quite depressed and has not been able to find a lot of enjoyment in daily activities. I insisted that she consult a gastroenterologist. Based upon reviews, we chose Dr. Barth. Our appointment with her was disappointing to say the least. Dr. Barth seemed rushed, asked few specific questions, and did not even physically examine my wife. She suggested a consistent course of laxative and an EGD...first available EGD 30 days out. It was a whirlwind of a visit as Dr. Barth spent less than 5 minutes with my wife. We left feeling quite discouraged. As someone who suffers from Crohn's disease, I have experienced the care of several gastroenterologists for various treatments including a small bowel resection. I know a good GI doc and in my opinion Dr. Barth did not live up to the high praise found in other reviews..

Handled very poorly/physican left suddenly.
I had an appt. with Dr. Barth that was made 10 days ago. I just received a call telling me she is no longer with that practice and could not tell me where she may have gone. Consequently, since I will not see a male physician, I will go untreated. I am very concerned about a 'lose-lose' situation like this!
